Do you think so? I have been wondering lately. Are silly questions and controversial posts the ones with the most responses? The trend I see here is that these posts get a lot of responses and people seem to enjoy responding to them as they can type a lot of things. To me, this seems like an exploitation of mylot's loophole. An example of a controversial post is: 'is mylot a scam' which I read a few days ago.
Next are the silly question posts. The most common one is in the 'make extra money' interest section. I kept seeing people asking about or recomending paid to sites that has been labelled as scams. And they get a lot of responses. Some of it is so obvious that the post is trying to attract responses because the person who posted has posted a lot already and by logic, this person should have come accross the same post at least a few times already.
But who am I to argue. Sometimes I couldn't restrain myself from responding to them too. What about you? What do you think?

I find that that seems to be the case 90% of the time here, Jerrymouse. A good deal of the threads I don't think are worth posting in wind up being very popular, or one that I think deserves more responses is completely ignored because it requires a thought out reply, as opposed to simply "lol" or "well, you suck for having that opinion".

You are quite right. People rarely think elaborately when they respond to discussions. I think it is most probably due to the recreational factor. Many people who posts here think of it as a past time activity. Due to this, people tend to do things that will not make them feel tired so that it is an enjoyable experience.
But I have to say, I feel disappointed when I see no responses to discussions that I look forward to.

Well; is not it the fact that controversies do make for great publicity ? So ,these things also make up for a lot in Mylot too.
Controversies generate a lot of interest in Mylot users' minds .
However;I have personally replied to only some of the controversial discussions .

I don't know about the silly question posts, but I think controversial posts are most likely to attract responders. Because I think we feel the "need" to say something. Just recently, I saw someone, quite newly joined, made many controversial posts and voila, there were so many responders. Either pros, contras or just wanted to have a good laugh ^^. I don't know about that person's earning, though ^^.
