what kind of work do you do? Do you work as an employee for a company, work as an independent contractor for a company or do you own your own business? How long have you been working from home? Do you enjoy it, or do you wish you could work in a more traditional capacity outside your home?

I do both. As a single parent and the economy what it is, I really have no choice. I have always been able to find some sort of side work beyond my regular full time job. I have done finish work and laborer for carpentry, I have earned money cooking meals for elderly, sewing, typing, daycare and even doing laundry for people. Currently, I have been making and selling incense bottles and making some pretty good side money on that. I enjoy my job very much but it is too much of a struggle to get by on just one income. I also enjoy my side work so I don't mind the hours I put into it. The best would be if I could just work on my own. I hate leaving my daughter to go to work but she is 14 and understands that I am doing it for us.

I understand completely. My main reason for working from home, even though the pay can be unpredictable most of the time, is because of my children. I have 4 kids, one of whom has serious medical issues that makes the cost of daycare very prohibitive. I could make better money working outside the home, but the cost of daycare would be so high I'd basically be working to pay for daycare and gas.
Have you considered selling your incense bottles online, perhaps on your own website? My sister makes candles and soaps and the like and sells them from a website and has done pretty good with it.
Thanks for your reply!

I will definitely check your website out. Thanks! I'm happy that you're making a good profit. I've been contemplating starting my own business for some time now and it's encouraging when I hear stories of people starting their own busines and becoming successful. I'm still in the planning stages right now, but hope to be able to make a go of it in the next year or two (I'm finishing my college degree and need the stability of the income I have at the moment).
Good luck to you!

Hi Trish. I am a work from home mom and actually i just started. I have been scammed so many times but i just came across the company where im a independent business owner selling health benefits. I just make my first 3 checks meaning my first 3 clients and each check was for $90. there is alot of potential with this company. I am so glad to be able to stay at home and not have to deal with the 9-5 40hr work week. Im my own boss and love it. Please if you are looking to get into the work from home thing go to www.deliveringonthepromise.com/smiller515. There you can see what the company can offer you ... also you will get 401k and free health benefits, you can't beat that.

Hi Stephanie,
It's great that you finally found something legitimate that's not only legitimate but makes you happy, too. Even though there are many options out there, it's tough to get a foot in the door because there are many, many people wanting to be able to work from home.
Thanks for the link. I have been working from home for several years, and currently work as an independent contractor with 2 different companies. However, I always come across people who are looking to start working from home that I can pass your link on to.
Best of luck to you!
