How do you cook your hot dogs? We are making a quick lunch

I like mine browned, the browner, the better. It doesn't matter if on a grill, a George Forman or a frying pan. Sometimes I even slice them in half lengthwise and brown them inside and out. I have also learned that sticking the buns in the toaster makes them perfectly brown (you have to toast both ends unless you have a toaster oven) without burning them. I'll eat boiled dogs if I'm at a park or somewhere and really want a hot dog, but at home, they have to be browned.

My family prefers fried or grilled hot dogs to boiled any time! So, usually I either fry them in an iron skillet or whip out my George Foreman grill and grill them.

I love using my George Forman grill when making hot dogs that is how we prefer it. It taste better then microwaving or boiling the taste out of them.

One of the ways I like to make my hotdogs is on the barbecue. For some reason people seem to like them well done, which here .. at least to me.. means burnt. Oh, well, right? I tend just to nuke them. Perhaps that's a little lazy.

On the grill! They taste better that way.

Grilled. Actually, I have the BEST recipe that I made for the super bowl this year... Bacon wrapped kraut stuffed dogs. It's quite simple and ever so good. Dietz and Watson (or other good quality hot dogs) fresh kraut sliced bacon ketchup & mustard mixed together split hot dogs down the middle and brush interior with mustard and ketchup mixture. Place approx 2 tbsp. kraut inside split weiner and wrap bacon around hot dog to seal split sides and kraut together. Grill over medium high heat until bacon is cooked through. Serve on a bun! Yummmmm!

I like to boil my hot dogs or put them on the grill outside also. We had some hot dogs the other day and I was just going to boil them on the stove but my husband put them on the grill. I fied a baked potato for us and some pork n beans. I also fixed some homemade macaroni and cheese.

Most times, I eat my hotdogs hot off the Foreman grill! They taste perfect. I don't like to boil them. But my daughter loves her hotdogs microwaved. Very tasty she says!

I love the taste of grilled hotdogs the best! But if the hotdogs are not fully cooked I usually boil them first before I grill them. I like to get the grill marks on them but not burn them. Mmmm I think I am going to make some hotdogs for dinner or lunch tomorrow!

I nuke mine in the microwave or throw them on the grill. My son likes to eat his cold. So does the baby.

If it's a nice enough day, I'll grill 'em and slap 'em in buns. But for the most part, I boil, then slice down the middle to make sandwiches.

My son fixed them in a skillet the other night and they tasted almost like they were fixed on a grill.. He just put them in the skillet and turned it on low and shook them about for a few minutes, until they were browned all the way around.. This is the first time that I have had them like that and they were pretty good for a hot dog, I really don't like them that much..

My hubby always just throws his in the microwave and I cant eat them like that , and have never been able to . My mom always used to boil them when we were kids . I like mine best on the grill in the summertime , or I will fry them up . I kinda like my hotdog burnt .

It depends on who's going to eat.But most of the time i fry it.My son likes it boil and sometimes brings few to school for his lunch or snack.I wanted to try grilling but our place does now allow--we live in an apartment,some of the tenants don't like smokes.I haven't tried cooking it in microwave,i'll try that one of these days.Thanks!

That sounds good, doing them on the grill! My favorite way to cook a hot dog is on the grill at a cookout but if I'm just having one for quick lunch I'll just put them under the broiler in my oven until they're VERY brown, burnt in fact. When I get a hot dog out somewhere I always ask for a burnt one. Boiled hot dogs don't appeal to me except with sauerkraut or chili. Annie

Hot dogs are best cooked on the grill! I will eat them fried and I have had them boiled and in the microwave,but not nearly as good. I prefer to grill them and if you add a little bbq sauce they are even better! Aren't the counter grills nice to have especially in the winter when it is too cold for the outside grill.

Well it all depends on how hungry I am, sometimes I will boil my hotdogs, I really like them made outdoors on the grill. but most of the time I will just pop one in the microwave and be done with it it is real fast that way.

Well, it depends. A lot of the time I like them fried. Boiled is good too, as long as you don't boil them for too long. My step mom microwaves them in a shallow bowl of water, they turn out very well that way.

We normally boil them because we live in an apartment and don't have a grill or anything to use. My preferred method is grilling though! Or over a campfire :) Those have the best taste, in my opinion!
