What Do Think About Human X-ray in Airport?

X-Ray Machines - Violation of Privacy

The human x-ray scanner, called the backscatter system, is a scanning device that gives a security value matched only by a strip search. Do you think there are risks when people are submitted to such x-ray machines? And do they violate our privacy? One advantage of this is there will be no intrusive strip search and there will be a definite increase in the chance of catching a threat to airport security. What do you think?

Dear friend, I do hope it is a part for the security of people and their life. The safety of people to be in flight with much confidence that no more hijack of treat inside with weapons may not happen. Moreover they should be also aware of its health facts like what happens to a pregnant women who gets this radiation effect the child or pregnancy or the other organs of humans all these too should be taken care. More security can be done better even with out a x -ray may be it is much speedy. Those terrorist attacks too are much cared if this is kept. All together I hope that the society is to be secure both in health and from danger. I hope this x-ray if not published many people will not have objected. They said it out to people as they did not keep it as a secret. Hence those people who have any negative intentions, can take care of x-ray scanner too.

I understand the importance of airport security, but honestly, I think that the US has gone overboard. For instance, look at the terror level, it is at orange, even though on their website they basically say "we have no evidence to back up the fact that there will be a terrorist attack" It costs us a lot of money already, what if every airport in the country is required to buy these new machines? In addition to the health risks, its way too expensive.

Having a human x-ray machine would be violating our privacy as well as it being harmful to our bodies. The radiation from these machines is not healthy and should not be considered. I do not think people would go for this type of equipment and a big protest would be made or people would stop flying. I think the way that they are checking people now is just find or they need better equipment that can detect anything on a persons body or in their baggage.

I am not worried about the machine itssel, raher I'm worried about what it might do to the body. Whenever I get an x-ray in a hospital they cover my abdomon, so that my re-productive organis won't be harmed. Will there be the same risks with this new machine in airports?

That idea makes me very uncomfortable. I dont think I like it at all. I hope they wont subject everyone to this. I would not want to walk through it. The las time I went through airport security it was not that bad. I had no metal on any of my clothing so I was not detained in any way. I really would not like the human xray machine.

I think it is necessary to be examed by the x-ray scanner for the world is becomeing more and more dangerous.Maybe we won't take the plane if they don't use x-ray to exam everyone even we hate it.It's a way for safity. But I don't like it because x-ray does harm to us.:(

Well I work in a maximum security prison and have this sort of check every morning, we are assured that it is safe by management. I really dont know why we are checked more than the prisoners but we are blessed be

I would rather have a 'human x-ray' done on me than have a strip search done. I am American, white... no reason to stop me at all and EVERYtime I go to the airport I have been stopped and twice had to strip down to my boxer shorts in front of everyone. TWICE. This is getting (has gotten) way out of hand. I don't understand the whole thing about the shoes either... they can't make a machine to scan shoes... I really don't like not only me but allllll the other people in the whole airport taking thier shoes off while going through checkpoints. Ugghhh Thanks Zelo

I think that people who fly want safety and are willingly using these machines....they may not want to, but by choosing to fly they are accepting the airport security measures and whatever risks go along with them. I don't think it's a violation of privacy. If they were x-raying people without telling them that would be, but the people who go through the x-ray machines are fully aware of what is going on.

they do violate not only our privacy but also our health!~ exposing us to radiations isn't a thing we would shut up on! completely against it! and I'd call on strike if it's applied here in my country!

More ionizing radiation exposure... yay... I'm afraid I would have to say that I do not think it is necessary. I heard about this technology on the BBC, and they say that the genitals will be blurred on the display screen. If so, then couldn't someone hide something dangerous around their genital area, and with no body searches or metal detectors it would not be noticed?

ok,in my country,we don't use X-ray to scan people, and i don't know which country you refered to.but i think it's no very good.first,it will have some bad effect on people's body, and second the people scanned must feel that he or she is not respected. so safe is very important, but can we find a better way to reach the goal
