You've got a very bad view of a very real and very serious disorder. I suffered very severe PPD after the birth of my second child. I never once had thoughts of harming my daughter. That type of behavior is NOT the norm at all.
PPD is simply the result of a bodies hormones not recovering as quickly on their own as they should have. It can cause depression, anxiety, insomnia and mood swings. Homicidal and psychotic behavior is NOT a symptom of PPD. It's a separate issue that can be aggravated further by PPD. That's all.
