Tonight I went ahead and made some strawberry blueberry crisp, I had bought some blueberries the other day so they were nice and big and wanted to make just blue berry crisp but today i went out and picked lots of strawberries and thought it would make a great desert in which it did.. Do you ever just mix fruit like this together to make a tasty treat for your family?

Yum!
I just finished making a treat of my own. A week or so ago I had made some awesome strawberry shortcake with homemake sweet biscuits and fresh whipped cream. I saw strawberries on sale at Aldi's the other day so bought those and some blueberries too.
I made the whipped cream and biscuits again and this time cut the strawberries into smaller chunks and folded the blueberries into the cream with it. It was awesome!

Oh that sounds great for sure... I need to learn how to make my own whipped cream and biscuits... I am sort of cheap and just buy the mix for it and make that myself and the cool whip I buy also.. If I knew how to make them I would for sure.. I'd more than likely gain 100 lbs cause it's there and i know it and would want it all the time... Thanks for your reply!

Biscuits is simply bisquick and milk, and for these type things, I add just a little sugar to them.
Homemade whipped cream is the best and if you make it, you'll never go back to the junk in a plastic tub, I promise you.
Just put heavy cream in a bowl, make sure both are very cold, and whip, adding a little sugar as you beat it. Taste as you go to know how much sugar to use, then add a very small dab of vanilla.
A mixer is best, but I use one of those little chopper/mixer things that tupperware sells, and I've even used a wire whisk in a pinch (THAT takes a while).

I am always trying something new actually mainly when it comes to fresh fruit like that... Last year I made a really good mixed cobbler that was great, just a mix of strawberries, blueberries and blackberries all in on with a oatmeal topping.. Everyone loved it.. However we don't have any blackberries yet so I can't make that yet...

My mother used to make things like that all the time when my sister and I were little. She always served it with really good vanilla ice cream. She used to make really good rhubarb crisp from the rhubarb we had in our garden at the cottage.
