Has The New Layout/Upgrade Caused New Glitches For You?

Okay I have to admit when mylot decided to do this upgrade I wasn't too thrilled with it, it took me awhile to adapt....funny how we resist changes right? But now I'm getting the hang of it...uh, I think. Unfortunately, I'm stumbling upon glitches in the system I never had before. Now technically speaking I never log or sign out...gee, must have looked like I was here 24 hours a day. I would simply close the open tab of the mylot website when I was finished for the time....then if I came back, bingo all set. Not so now. I'm finding if I close the tab, or move away from MyLot to say check my emails, even for ten minutes, I have to log/sign in again. The more frustrating part is sometimes I could be in the middle of making a reply to a friend's discussion,...I hit the "respond" button and it comes up that I'm not a member...why? Cause it logged me out AGAIN...no I don't lose what I've just written as the trick seems to be in that area it says "Already a Member? Click here"..so click there and takes me back to my response so I haven't lost it (yet) I seem to be having this problem more tonight, than I did yesterday when the upgrade was first made..anyone else having this problem? Or...gasps...anyone having other problems or glitches?

Yes, I've heard that many others are having this same issue. I'm using Firefox and don't experience the issue. So either they have fixed the problem or Firefox won't let them log me out!

Nope...I have Firefox and am having the problem....maybe it's an issue cause I have a Mac computer??? Some websites just don't mingle well with us Mac users

That's a bummer to hear about troubles with Mac. I have heard that they are immune to most Internet viruses! I don't know if that is true but it does make them very attractive to use.

I have Firefox, too - maybe that's the key. Maybe it's a cookie issue that Explorer recognizes that Firefox doesn't. Hmmmmm. I think that makes Firefox even more attractive to me!! LOL

I don't have that logging out problem. I have not logged out of mylot since I joined 18 months ago. When you sign in... don't you have a box that you can tick and say "remember me"? The other thing could be that you told your computer not to accept cookies. Without cookies... the site won't remember you. I will never get use to this new design. And I can see the time when I will leave mylot because of it.

I don't know anything about Mac Computers or Firefox... But as a guess... I would say that it has to do with a security feature on your computer.

I have the same problem. Also, pages are super slow. I have super fast connection but not working on Mylot. It is very slooooooooooow.............. Also, if I want to respond directly from email, page is loading 3.5 minutes..... When I respond, I have to wait 2-3 minutes for my respond to be send...

I am having the signing in and out problem too. Its sort of annoying to have to log in every five minutes. But thats the only problem I am having so far.

hi I don't have any problems with the new layout so far it would probably help if you reported these glitches so the admin can do something about it. I think the new layout is great, the site looks more streamlined and compact

I'm getting along just fine with the new myLot layout. I don't have the problem you're describing here, for me it's just like it used to be: I'm always logged in...

I don't seem to have that glitch I remain signed in, even when I am away from mylot for long periods of time, but I can't find the top user by ratings list, I wonder why they got rid of that feature, and I too fail to see the need for this particular upgrade, they certainly haven't given us anything new to enjoy.

The only time I've had to re-login again was when I've cleared my history/cache. I make sure I'm hitting the button that says "Remember me" or whatever it is. If you updated your browser it may be clearing your cache and all when you leave the site.

So far Pye, I am not having trouble, but I do know many are. I actually like the new layout very well. I like clean lines, and it does not seem as cluttered this way like the old layout did. I am sure they will get the bugs worked out eventually. Just when I am getting notifications good again, they go and change something.

I haven't had that issue come up yet, but something related... Firefox keeps shutting down since I upgraded to its latest version (a few days ago), but when I restart it my reply is still there, so I don't have to retype it.

Hi Pye! Interesting problem. I was actually having that exact problem before the upgrade. It would log me out sort of randomly throughout the day. Very annoying. I was also having a problem with other sitres, they would not log me out randomly, but they would log me out when I would leave their page. Some sites would do that normally and that was fine, but there are others where if you don't log out, they will never log you out. The problem for me was that my Firefox profile (the default one) had gotten corrupted. I deleted it and all is well now.

I haven't had that happen to me yet (of course, now that I've said that....) I've been logged on since yesterday - in fact, I rebooted my computer after the update and was still logged on when I went back. I've had MySpace do that to me and it's annoying as h3ll!! So, I can definitely relate, even if not here. I hope it resolves itself for you.

i have been experiencing the same problems as you have also pyewacket. i only logged in to mylot yesterday and saw the new change i was impressed. then only to realize that it was logging me out if i changed pages to cheek my email. or if i left the page open for to long. or even when i was posting a comment only to realized that i was no longer logged in and i had to sign in all over again. i must say its a bit frustrating, but i do hope this problem gets resolved quickly.

It seems that there are several people who can no longer log onto the site since the new layout was put in place. While I don't have any details of any kind, I have heard that a mutual friend (who's avatar has been temporarily adopted by a new MyLot friend), dfn, cannot log in. Being that I am sort of left in the dark, I have a suspicion that she cannot log in because of this glitchiness of this new installation.

I haven't had any problems yet but there are some slight changes I don't agree with. First, I couldn't find the "start new discussion" tab. That was really annoying because I lost the opportunity to start ranting about the new layout. Good thing there was a notice waiting in my mailbox and I was able to locate it on time. Second, I don't like that there's no more countdown timer to the earnings portion. I used to wait up all the time just to see how much I've made for the previous day. But now it's gone and it's so easy for myLot not to update the earnings.

it seems the past couple days a lot of my friends have complained about this. im new so had just barely figured out the old layout before they sprung the new one so i guess it didnt bother me quite as much as the people that got used to the old layout and had been comfortable in it for a while. maybe i've found an answer or a new way persay a back door. i've been just answering through my email while checking it. that seems to work
