Would you pack up and move to another country?

A lot of my friends either have or are thinking of leaving the UK for good. General standard of living, job and education opportunities and now the credit crunch all seem to be factors influencing their decision.
Is it making the most of life? Or deserting a sinking ship? lol.
I would like to do it myself, but maybe in 5 - 10 years. More for an adventure than anything else.

I guess it will all depend on what situation a man has in his own country and the condition of THE COUNTRY ITSELF! If there will be no progress or even a small light at the end of the tunnel while staying at ones homeland... THEN there is NO PROBLEM thinking to pack up their bags and ride the next train elsewhere. I myself will be doing that after I finish my 2nd course. There is no bright future for the profession I have chosen here in my country. The compensation is very low than what is really JUST for us. Unlike in other countries where our sevice are valued and well compensated too. Pretty nice topic. And thanks for allowing me to share my views on it. God bless us whatever plans we do have

I would not think of moving to another country. No doubt the the cost of living has gone up so much that it becomes difficult to make ends meet. I stay in a large city and would at the most think of moving to a little smaller place where the cost of living would be less.

I dont wanna do that. I already been in to other country. I enjoyed my stay there for two years. I'm working there. But i still want my own country. I can never be feel at home in other far away land. Maybe for a vacation, shall we say two months. That will be enough.

I'm surprised...a lot of people from other countries would like to migrate to your country if they could afford it. Your country grants the citizens freedom and fairness - religious freedom, school and university entrance based on merits, awards of scholarships, sponsorships and business tenders based on your academic or company track records. In short, if you are good, you get your opportunities .
In other countries, even if you are good, have great results - however if you don't have money to 'oil the wheels'(corruption), not related or know the right people (cronynism / nepotism) or not the right race (racism) - you just don't stand a chance.
