I work in a hospital. Just to do something nice for the employees, the hospital had free ice cream for everyone on Friday. It was so nice. They had several choices of ice cream and all kinds of toppings -- hot fudge, sprinkles, banannas for splits, butterfinger pieces, toffee pieces, cherries, etc. It was so good. We all got a sugar rush and then had to try and stay awake the rest of the afternoon. Oh what a treat it was.

That's pretty cool! I wish all employers
would do that. I'm a stay at home mom
and don't have an employer so I have
to buy my own.
The Butterfingers sounds really good
about now! Time for late night cravings!
LOL!

That is really nice that your employer treated you to ice cream. What a special treat.
Every year my employer has a ice cream truck come for 1 hr.Letting all the employees get free ice cream.I always get a ice cream sandwich it's not that messy to eat.And it hits the spot especially when it's hot outside.

I worked for a company and the manager of the office building would do that. An ice cream truck would come and each employee in the building would be given a ticket. You would then go to the truck select and select your ice cream.
'They also would do this in the winter, with hot chocolate and donuts. Very nice gesture on their part.

Oh, that sounds like a really nice gesture on behalf of your employer. It must have really been a nice treat and special surprise for all of you. That sounds really nice to have something like that in the work place. I believe it helps you to have incentive in the work place. The hospital probably felt that the employees deserved to have something nice once in a while and have appreciation for you and your fellow employees. Good job!

Hi momiecat.
What a nice way for an employer to reward its employees! And how fun! That sounds like an enjoyable way to spend part of your afternoon at work.
There are so many times when people complain about their employers. It's nice to hear from a person who appreciates her employer. Fantastic!

I once worked for a company that tried that. The top executives came around with a cart that had paper cups and cones and vanilla ice cream (bargain brand). You had a choice of cone or dish, but by the time they got through the third office, no one dared take a cone because the ice cream was so melted. They only did that once.
