Trouble at the pool.

July 13, 2008 12:22pm CST
We just moved to a new development and are house is across from the community pool. We have had way to many children there breaking and swimming with out adults. My Husband and I go over there all them time and ask them to leave. Most of these kids don't live in the development, but some how they got the code to get in. We have notified the HOA and CDD's and they have done only one thing and that is adding cameras, but that does not stop them. We are not sure what else we can do, sense the HOA and CDD have not done anything else. Please help with suggestions. We are at the point where we don't even go to the pool, because when we do, the kids get so out of control, even when we asked them to stop. Some have parents there, but they just lay there and watch. Please help. Thank you!

Rather than just notifying the HOA and CDD's sometimes it is more effective to come up with a proposal. One of the things that they did in my sisters apartment complex to cut down on the amount of people who shouldn't be there is create pool passes. These passes were just normal laminated paper that had the signature of the apartment owner as well as the apartment number on it. You were required to bring it to the pool with you. When things got out of hand, one of the representatives would walk around the pool and ask to see everyone's pass. If they didn't have one, they were thrown out and if they were under the age of 14 without an adult, they were also kicked out of the pool area. It helped with their problems, but it also required a person with authority to implement.

Yes we have done so and gave them a proposal. We even suggested something different. This is a cobination lock. We asked them to change it to a key lock or a slide card. I feel that they want the authority, but not willing to take the responsibility! Thank you for your response. :)
