OK folks. Time for a little poll of sorts. With so much different TV programming out there, I'm curious to know where the popularity stands. Is it Crime/Mystery that attracts you? Reality TV that's been running rampant for almost 10 years now? Or are you a daytime soap opera fan. Whatever it is, I wanna know. So tell me what you're favorite show is and JUST as important, why it's your favorie.
For the record, my favorite show is Ghost Hunters. Why? I guess because it encompasses a few thngs that I like...mystery, reality, comedy, and it challenges my mind, or lack theref some days :)

I prefer comedy really but sadly they don't make em like they used to so i've been living quite happily without a TV until earlier this year.
Now with the freeview box i tend to watch CSI and House, but thankfully i can also get stuff like Top Gear, Scrubs, Whose Line Is It Anyway :)

HA! I just chuckled out loud when I saw Whose Line Is It Anyway mentioned. That show is HILARIOUS! The talent that Wayne, Ryan and the rest of rotating cast possess with their improv is second to none. You never know what you're gonna get next and that's the beauty of the show!

I guess for me its crime and mystery. I watch a lot of CSI, NCIS, and all the Law and Orders. I also watch Ghost Hunters especially the international because they go to a lot of neat places and some of the things that happens to them. And when none of those are on i am a channel surfer til something catches my eye, and then there is no telling what i will end up watching. Right now i am watching a mini marathon of law and order.

Crime and mystery...nice. I also like GHI and you're absolutely correct...some of the places they investigate are wicked awesome! Makes you wish you could just jump into the TV screen to investigate with them.

Well, right now, Criminal Minds is my favorite show. It's one of the few shows where I love the majority of the characters (and until recently, every character). It's extremely intelligent, and I love how the main characters are friends and it shows. And, that there's no romance. I'm not anti-romance, I just don't think every show needs it, and I know not every job has coworkers sleeping together, so it's nice to see that on a show. And, I like that the characters are complex and flawed while still being good. Oh, yeah, it's a crime show, but it's not the main reason I watch. But, I don't have one particular type of show I watch. You give me a good show, and most importantly, good characters that interest me, and I'll watch crime, medical shows, sci-fi shows, the occasional comedy, whatever.

I haven't really ever watched that show but I can appreciate what it is you like about it. Seems that way too many shows throw in the steamy "office" fling for ratings when they should just stick to what it is that their story lines are all about.

Star Trek: The Next Generation because it addresses moral and social issues in each of the episodes and has great diversity and unity portrayed. It is also very culturally significant as many of the fictional devices in the show have also been claimed as inspirations for actual devices like mobile phones (communicator) and medical technology (hypospray).
The acting is also superb, as Patrick Stewart is one of my favs.

Well I must admit that I'm a bit of a "Trekkie" myself. I prefer the Next Generation over the original series and the real reason is Patrick Stewart. I've seen him in SO many different roles, including theatre and he is an incredible talent. Nice choice.

I prefer comedies the most - The Big Bang Theory, How I met your mother, Two & half men, etc. Next I like the crime mystery shows like CSI, Criminal Minds, etc. I also love Medium alot. I think that is a really great show. I also like to watch Ghost Whisperer. As you can see I am into ghost stories too. I don't have cable so have never see Ghost Hunters. Sounds good though.

Hi Virgie and thanks for your reply. There's nothing quite like a good ghost story. It's really too bad you can't see Ghost Hunters. Being into ghosts, I think you'd LOVE it!
