To artists out there that draw or sketch. Do you usually get a pencil and a paper and start drawing without a plan? I do that all the time and I just create something I never imagined I would do. I surprise myself with my own work cause I do it from my heart that leads me. It is one of my favorite hobbies and I really enjoy doing it. I think it is one of my hidden talents. I would like to know what motivates you in your own at or creativity? Or Do you have a similar experience like me just drawing without a plan?

I don't draw or sketch very often but every once in while I'll get the urge to break out the charcoals, graphite and sketch pad. It's usually when I see something or someone I find unique and the feeling just hits me, "I HAVE to sketch that!"
I don't remember ever sitting down with my drawing tools without an idea in my head first. Many times the finished product has nothing to do with what I had in my head though.
Drawing is not my strongest skill however. I do some sculpting and I design jewelry. So most of my sketching has to do with those two arts rather than drawing for artistic sake. I envy people who can sit down and the art just flows from a pencil or brush. My father was like that, just an incredible artist. Even his doodling on a notepad while talking on the phone used to just floor me. I always wished I had the talent to do that. But I'm more a physical artist. I have to twist, push and feel the clay in my hands when I sculpt. Same with making jewelry, I cut and twist metals and sculpt my own beads sometimes to make a piece I'm happy with.
I'm glad you found a creative outlet that comes from the heart. It's such a wonderful way of expressing who we are.

I usualy justb feel like drawing and in the end, a picture is formed. I think that drawing is an expression of imagination and creativity. Dawing comes from within and I have a friend who draws like an artist. I also like to draw but my drawings does not appear as well as hers. I always attend drawing couses and I always feel that if you want to draw, you must think out of the box and imagine and create something new.
