I Am So Like A Teenager At Times - I have a Crush! What Am I like?

Ever since I was a girl I have always like Martin Shaw the actor who played int the Professionals as Doyle, all the other girls like Bodie but not me, I always thought Martin Shaw was just so sexy and he has improved with age, when I was dating someone I asked him not to come round one night as I had a date with another man, Judge John Deed, another programme Martin Shaw was in and now tonight I delibrately got my son to bed asleep early so I could watch him in George Gently at 8pm. I wasn't that impressed with the programme but watched cos of Martin Shaw. Have you got a secret crush like this on someone? Have you had one in the past? Am I being a silly girl instead of a mature woman of 45 acting like this over someone I will probably never get to meet for real? Ellie :D

Hmm, my crush isn't exactly secret--I love Johnny Depp! And, I'm a lot older than you, so if you are silly, I don't even know what that means about me!
I do think most people develop interests in particular celebrities, actors and musicians whom they admire, in terms of their talent, looks, charisma, etc. So, I suspect we both fall in the realm of "normal," whatever that is.

Anyhoo, I like Nicholas Cage also. That is wonderful that you have such interesting people living within such close proximity to you. Just remember, Johnny Depp is mine...

Ah yes Johnny Depp, yes he is another good one, he is not beyond my dreams to meet though as my friend lives in Bath and knows the pub he frequents so I could make the trip to go as its not that far. Nicholas Cage lives nearby too, or they both have properties there anyway. Ellie :D

You are not alone Ellie. Apart from many women on here. You and they know who they are! I get the hots for Phoebe Nicholls who was Cordelia Flyte in Brideshead Revisited. I couldn't watch her when she played Cherie Blair though. But otherwise. Cor, yes please.

Hi ellie,That is cool! LOL! Before, I am very silly also about the famous actor in our Country..I even had a poster of him in my room and I felt like we are so close..LOL!
Every time I will look at the guys in the campus, I have to search someone who has the same eyes and features with my Crush..LOL!But, when he got a girlfriend, I started not liking him anymore..LOL! Silly me! Especially the time that he lost so much weight and looks different!LOL!

Hi Checapricorn, I don't have a poster or anything though I did as a teenager, but I just think he is a sexy man and love to watch him on TV, he played a good Elvis too in a stageshow too, oooooh, It good to be silly and have crushes eh! Well, I'm 57 and I'm a guy and I feel similar things about Sharon Stone.
It isn't her sexiness either. I think she has a very attractive face, and voice, and from what I've seen in the movies her attitudes aren't so bad either.
When I was younger I loved Ann Margret, Jane Fonda and some others.
I don't think you're a dreamy girl. If you are, then I'm a dreamy guy.

Yes , I still get crushes and I am in my late 20's . Lately , athletes grab my heart and esp baseball players , and esp a pitcher . I think it is normal My fiance 's mom gets crushes all the time still on soap stars and even has a poster hung in her office . You know you cant help it who draws ya in

Hi Guybrush, yes a voice can do that too eh, I remember years ago there was this guy who worked at a company we dealt with and all us girls used to want to take the cool because hos voice was so sexy, then he came to work for us and our illusions were shattered, the man didn't fit the voice, ah well. Hey there ellie333, I think it is Ok to have a crush now and then. However, i think the way a teenager and an adult reacts to a crush differs as that a teenager will get over-excited over it and if it's a celebrity then they might colelct stuffs about the celebity and if the crush is a real-life person that they meet then they might try and get into a relationship with the person. I think in your case, as long as it does not become to obsessive then I think you will be just fine. ^.^

I smiled a secretive smile to myself when I read this.
Several years back I watched the movie, The Ninth Gate w Johnny Depp.
The movie is about some very OLD/Satanist books. Since I collect books, read and dabble in writing, this is a fascinating movie to me.
But, Johnny Depp looked so good in this movie to me that I was almost
daydreaming about him . My s/o is also a writer and we discussed this
and he made me laugh by saying it was all about the books.
Nope, it was the way Johnny Depp looked in that movie and I know it.
Wow, thanks... it's time to watch it again!

that's perfectly normal I guess. We all are teenagers at some corner of our heart and that makes our lives so amusing! I did have and still have crushes on some local stars. At times it feels childish. But you know what - that makes me very much charged up and happy.

When I was younger I had crushes like this, since I have married my second husband I just have no interest in any of the other guys. I dont know if its a silly thing maybe your in need of something that isnt being fulfilled at home.

I think it is great that you have a crush and age really shouldn't matter. I have not had any crushes on anyone recently since I have been married for thirteen years now this month. I used to have crushes on people that I knew would never happen too though. I think that is just natural.

oh Ellie...guess at some stage I may of done too,but now must have outgrown it!! I do like Martin Shaw he is rather scrummy-but also James Dean the singer was gorgeous
