It is definitely a time waster. I thought I could get in some responses tonight but having a hard time finding them.

Messing around! Hah! Maybe you should stop messing around and write an interesting discussion. The problem is here everyone has such different interests that what is interesting to some might not be to others.
Maybe they are all on vacation. I will be soon! This is the first time I will be taking a cell phone that has a data plan, but the keyboard, although nice, is too small fo be myLotting one. It is a "thumbpad" -- dunno how the youngsters pound away on those all day. I have to grow some new muscles to be able do that.

You might be able to get a larger keypad that plugs into it if you get the DTs.
I guess you can say I was feeling lazy and relying on others to start discussions.

It is probably the weather. being that there is more occupied land on the northern half of the world, more people are probably out enjoying the warm (or hot) weather.
There seems to have been another flame war some time during the past week. There is the possibility that some may have gotten banned, but I'm not sure about that. Prople probably did end up taking a hiatus also.
Another thing is that with this latest downgrade/upgrade (whatever you want to call it), there have been complaints that several people cannot log onto the site.

Vacation probably has something to do with it. Also the war you talked about. I noticed some people are not active who normally can't stay away from myLot. Good answers.
But I think the main reason is 2,000+ is probably the main culprit. You see a lot of the same thing every week.

Hi there coolseeds! Well, there are so many discussions here at myLot. The problem is that there are less interesting discussions. Like there was a time when I was starting that I could respond to as many as 50 discussions at a given time. That was because there were so many interesting discussions. Now, I would be lucky if I get to respond to 30 interesting discussions. I hope that with the 135,000++ members, we could get more interesting discussions too!

Well! I dont find any problem in finding intersting discussions...
I always respond to discussions in my interests.. so ofcourse they would be interesting... After i finish posting respones to those discussions... i select one discussion from the similar discussions page just below it...
In this way i always find discussion of my interests...

I'm glad someone is finding them.
I try to do that but sometimes that becomes difficult. I am not going to respond to "What kind of cell phone do you have?" discussion. Seriously I don't know what kind of cell phone I have and couldn't think enough to type to warrant a response. Nor does it deserve the energy to go look to see what kind it is.
Sometimes when it is a dumb yes or no question. I want to respond with either yes or no because it doesn't deserve more than 1 word. LOL But people don't seem to find as much humor in that as I.
There are a lot of things in my interests but I am not finding any worth a reply. Take the ebay category. I have seen at least 5 discussions asking the same question in the last 2 weeks. I have typed "see my response on the same discussion started last week" along with a link. They seem to repeat a lot.
I just noticed. You are 202. You will know what I am talking about after you post 2,000. LOL

I don't see as many interesting discussions as I used to. I think a major part of the problem is the Mylot population is over 135,000 and it is tough to come up with new and interesting discussions that haven't been done before. I get sick of rehashing the same old stuff all the time. Some people are just so bent on one thing like Obama or McCain that I have just stopped replying to many of them.
I am one of those odd people that doesn't broadcast my life on the internet so I don't create a lot of discussions asking for advise or anything like that. Besides being private, I am not into being overly demonstrative in my responses. I do not know any of these people personally and I am reserved until I do.
I guess you just have to really look for decent discussions, but with this new set up I find navigation rather difficult.

Same here. I am sick of the stupid Obama and McCain discussions. I could care less about the myLot political mudslinging discussions. But as I type the gears start turning. I think I'll start responding to all of them. LOL I have plans to give the startled surprised response.
Oh I know exactly about the personal information. I was reading one yesterday about someone's daughter while thinking to myself this can't be real. No one in their right mind would say some of the things posted on myLot about their family. It has to be only for a discussion. If not I feel sorry for them for letting their lives get so out of hand.
Then there are the ones every new person starts. Like "when do I get to copy and paste", "what is the star", "how do I upload a photo" or "how do I change my avatar". I don't even post to them. But sometimes I read them. I saw like 4 newbies all responding to it like "I wish I knew". LOL

I am beginning to think that possibly people don't really want to think when they reply. Maybe it is too taxing for them to think as well as type and use correct language and punctuation. Oh and heaven forfend we have to spell correctly too. I don't waste a lot of time looking anymore there is too little to find.

Dear friend,
I hope one may have to search well to get an interesting discussions, may be more over there is lack of interesting topics to put up, more people may be not getting any interesting discussions may be they need more interesting ideas. May be duplication of same topics too makes lack of interesting discussions as interests too varies from person to individual. We do have other topics lets put our contributions if we have on that.

Purple Haze was my favorite acid and it is, in my opinion, the most beautiful of the various cannabis plants. What is that picture on your avatar? A passion flower? Don't worry, I don't expect an answer from you. I stopped responding to any of your discussions a long time ago as I you didn't bother to comment on most of my replies.

The photo in my avatar is a Passiflora that I grew a couple of years ago. I am most active on myLot in the winter. As many know I own a landscaping company that keeps me very busy during the summer.
I wasn't getting emails when I received responses for a while which meant I didn't know when someone responded. There is no deliberate neglect. However there is only so much time in a day.

Thank you for commenting! But now I'm gonna have to try for 2 in a row. Do you live in DC? I lived on Mass. Ave near American U. for a couple of years and worked at the Tombs in Georgetown. Most of my family is in Falls Church now, but I'm up in the Shenandoah Mts.
Also I have some questions about how to store seeds that I have 'grown' myself. I have some coriander seed, muskmelon, tomato and jalapeno, and I'm looking to have other veggie seeds from the garden too. Do you know anything about that? Like do they have to be stored in the fridge or in sealed containers or what? Can I just leave them in paper bags in my garden shed (which is going to get freezing in the winter)? I've also got a bunch of clover seed that I paid 60 bucks for and now I'm afraid I will not be able to use them all by the end of this season. I've got them stored in a tin container with a tightly fitting lid. Should I do something else with them?

PS: My point being that I used to think your discussions were interesting, but was disabused of that idea by your lack of interest, which is not very interesting at all actually.

I'm not really sure. There have been slow days on here in the past. Actually, I think that there are usually at least one day each week that seems slow. I guess it just depends on what people are doing, maybe they don't have the time on particular days.

I wonder about the same thing myself. Lol. I used to think maybe we've all just run out of discussions. I don't just mean discussions for the sake of discussions, but good discussions.
