1994 study found that in a given month, more than a third of U.S. 3-year-olds were getting a dose of cold or cough medicine.Now more than 30 of these preparations are marketed for children.

I have heard from several places that OTC cold treatments are not helpful when it comes to cold and flu. I think the best thing to do is talk to you childs doctor and see what they would recommend. My children have bad allergies and our on a precrition medication.
