Today I went to get my two nieces to come and visit for a couple of days. They come in the summer for a few days. We swim, bake cookies, go on bike rides, play in the park, catch lightning bugs and just generally let them be kids and I get to spoil them because I am the aunt! Nothing special, but they always bug me until I finally set a date for them to come. I know as they get older that it will probably stop, but until them I can enjoy them and create memories for all of us! Do any of you get to spend "special time with nieces and nephews?

I love it when my nieces and nephew come. I think it is wonderful to spoil them, then give them back to their mother. One thing that we do as a tradition, is I go shopping with them for their school supplies rather than their mother. This is because I will get them the "cool" folders and crayons, rather than the boring plain colored ones. We went swimming yesterday, and I had quite a bit of fun. Sometimes I wonder if I have more fun than they do.

I also think that sometimes I have more fun than they do, but who knows?! Tonight they started playing with my neighbor kids and it was fun watching them. they actually played hide and seek, tag, red rover - red rover, and who knows what else. I just let them continue to play and wear themselves out. They live on an acreage so really don't have much opportunity to get together with kids and do simple things like that. I just let them be kids. We baked cookies today, played in the pool and went to the park as well. We had a full day!

Yes, I had two neices(girls ages 6 and 9)come to visit from Quebec. I took them swimming and to the part. We made puppets and had a puppet show. I gave them manicures with sparkely jewelery on there nails. It was alot of fun especially since I had 2 boys.
