Lord of the Rings tells a heroic story that adults can truly appreciate while Harry Potter seems more like a successful fairy tale.
As for these two movie serieses, they are both great,no matter in screenplay or in boxoffice.
I usually prefer Lord of the Rings to Harry Potter because the novel of the former is really a literary tour de force of all time.

Definitely Harry Potter. The book, story and characters are just much easier to relate to than that of The Lord of the Rings. I was truly sad after reading the last book.

This is a hard one. I love them both. I like the books. I read the Lord of the Rings when I was very young. Well my mom read them to me. I would have to say Lord of the rings. I think it is more for an adult audience and Harry Potter for an audience of children. Like I said I do love them both. I have to say I like the books a lot better then the movies. But I also like to read a lot.

I would have to definitly say Harry Potter. I haven't seen Lord of the Rings or ever been interested in seeing it. I do remember reading a book The Hobit when I was in school but I have no clue if this even relates to Lord of the Rings. But I do love Harry Potter, I have read the books and watched the movies and I just can't get enough of it! I also think that Harry Potter is more of a family interest seeing as how it keeps kids interested depending on the age. Where as with Lord of the Rings I think you have to be a little older. But like I said I am not sure seeing as how I never seen Lord of the rings.
