I have a friend who has been eating oatmeal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the past 3 weeks. I can really notice that she is losing weight. According to her she doesn't feel dizzy or any bad symptoms. Do you think this is safe? I'd like to try it.

I can't see where that is healthy at all. Your diet needs fruits and vegetables, and variety. You would be better off eating six small meals and increasing your cardio. The first time I lost a huge amount of weight, I looked good..but I didnt keep it off. If you want to lose it and keep it off for life, you have to change your life style(eating and working out habbits).

hmmm.. six small meals.. i don't think that would work for me coz i might get tempted =) haha! a change of lifestyle is really vital. right now, i seldom go to the gym because i'm always swamped with work. I really need to have work+life balance.

That's true, my friend from high school started eating oatmeal and plain biscuit and after a year or so she loses her weight and you can really tell, I'm not sure if though if she's having any side effects from it but it did a great job for her body.. :) I wanted to try it too, maybe you could go on the breakfast and dinners meals to have oatmeal or lunch and dinner because at night your body rest and it would digest slower..

Thanks for the response! I have a couple of friends who have the same success story as well. I wish to lose weight like them! I'd probably try breakfast first, then I would lessen food taken during lunch and dinner.. ^_^

Yes oatmeal is a good form of food to consume for people who want to be healthy and to lose weight. But bare in mind that losing weight just by eating oatmeal for all the three meals is not good. You still to need excercise to promote a better of absorption of the vitamins and minerals in the food itself. And also mentally you might be get tired, and your tongue will give up. I mean oatmeal is alright to be taken for breakfast, but for the rest of the meal it is not advisable. Think of long term weight loss , not short term.

I think you're right. While in the process of losing weight, i might give up easily because I might get tired of eating the same food for all three meals.

Oatmeal is very healthy and you will really lose weight eating just that because it's mostly fiber. It is relatively safe. However, I cannot do what your friend does even though there are so many oatmeal variants these days.I'd probably vomit if I try eating just oatmeal.Maybe I can do that but I'd have cereals for other meals.Good Luck to you!
