now a days i think we put less cash on our wallet, but replace it by cards. both 2 hav advantages and disadvantages. card is very convinent and not bulky unlike cash, but at times u cant control spending when using cards. unlike cash u can monitor more or less how much u spend if ur spending too much already since cash ,the amount is very visible.so for you whish do u use, cash or cards?

As much as possible, I'd buy using cash. Yes, I agree with that, a lot of stores do give lower prices when you buy cash. It feels a lot better since you know that item is yours without having a debt. Credit cards however, can purchase more goods and can eliminate the usual problem with distance. However, it is priced higher than when you get it in cash.
There are advantages if you know how to use them well. I find it like a booby trap. They give you cheese and if you know how to get it without being trapped, you're good. But another trap will be laid, once you give in, the troubles begin. Not only will you have to pay for the goods, you'll pay interest, finance charges. Traps are usually the minimum charges, they tell you "yeah, you could just pay for the minimum amount and your credit standing will be fine", if you give in, they already won. Because they'll collect finance charges.
They really mean business. So stay with cash. They would cover it with discounts, points, free miles. It does help but make sure you know how to maintain it properly. With cash, no problems at all. Only if you lack a few though. Just wait and save.

Don't mention it Joy. I experience it and was real bad. It's tough to get back on track with credit card. I just don't want more people to succumb to it if they can't manage it well. Just use cash. These banks offer it to us of course for business. There really are some greedy business men out there. There may be a few but their thirst for money is truly impressive. Take care.

I prefer to pay by cash while shopping. If I am not carrying enough cash, I use a debit card. In case its really something I need badly and I neither have cash nor balance to use debit card, I use a credit card.
I don't put the full payment on credit card. I pay all the cash I have and only pay the balance by credit card. If I make a payment using credit card, I make sure I repay it as soon as possible, without waiting for a card statement.
Thanks

Yes. I have learned that a hard way :) especially about credit cards!
Credit card companies always want you to use credit, as much as possible keep you in debt so that they are able to earn interest and more than that other charges like late fee etc. The more you are in debt, the better for them. Avoid using credit is the best way for a good night's sleep.
Thanks for the tag!

I still prefer to use cash over my card. If it's a big purchase (like a tv or fridge), I'd choose to use a card especially if the promo is no interest. LOL. Sometimes you really can't monitor your expenses if you use a card. Plus the interest rates these credit card companies charge are sometimes really out of this world... So to be safe, i'll go for cash.

i use cash because i don't have a credit card. i've heard of horror credit card stories where people get deep into a burden of having too much credit that they couldn't pay it. you are right when you say that when you have a credit card, you can't control your spending. there are also some hidden charges with the use of credit cards. but i also agree when you say that it is also advantageous because it's not bulky. and i know of some people who have the discipline of not overspending or overusing their credit cards, so for them, they really maximize the efficient and effective use of credit cards.

thanks for supporting me with my choice. i don't get much support from people who think having a credit card is the "in" thing and that you're left behind if you don't have one. i think it's rather stupid. lol.

I find I spend much more money when I use my card. It is so easy to just swipe and go. If I have to take the time to count my cash and make it last I have such a hard time. I tell myself to budget using the card but it NEVER works out. It's just too convenient.

yes i usually have more cards than cash in my wallet. i do control my spending on cards. one good way of going about it is to ensure that the cash amount for any card spending is set aside in a separate account. this cash amount will be used to pay the card bill when it comes. i also keep a list of card expenditure and monitor it closely to ensure that i don't overspend. with these in mind, i still use my cards more often. cheers ;p

I will prefer cash.. Because it makes me that like i have the spending power and i always feel good to see my wallet full of cash whenever i open it.. lol ^_^
I like the feeling of having cold hard cash and also an advantage of me being able to keep track on how much i have spent for the day ^_^

it depends. if i buy things like appliances or furnitures i use my card. but if its clothes or shoes i use cash. i don't need to use card always. the interest are big. its not practical to just use always.
