After so much asking and reading, from mylot too,i decided to install Ubuntu Linux for mine system and finally successful install its Desktop Edition.I can brief you step-by-step for its installation so that others user get help from it.
1.Go the Ubuntu site where you will find two edition of Linux, first is desktop edition and other is server edition.you can select either two and get the CDs from them or download if your net speed is good.
2.Download with the software help like getright to avoid breaking of download as ISO download is too big and takes hours.
3.Now, burn the ISO image into blank-cd and then boot from that CD and start installing Linux which is user-friendly and you can easily do it.
4.If you have still any question or query, you can post here too.
keep smiling,

Well the thing is I have always heard that Linux is a very good operating system, it is very stable it never crashes in many other things like that but I was never able to install it on mine computer because once when I tried doing the same I made a total mess of it and all my data was gone because of the same. But the time I was not buying much about partitioning and other straps on the hard disk so I might have made some mistake and that is the reason why there was an error in the installation. But after that I never tried to do the same again because of a lot of compatibility problems and stop the biggest thing is I never had the driver's online exertion of my hardware & never tried to stop apart from that I don't know whether I would be able to connect my laptop which would help the Linux operating system with my desktop computer which already has the Windows operating system. It was if they cannot do this with the biggest problem will be the Internet connection.

I have tried Linux during my third year in the university. The version I used was from RedHat. It's was so complicated and less user friendly, compared to the latest version today. I remembered we need to type several commands in the terminal before we could read the contents in the floppy disk, which could be done easily if we are using MS Windows. I haven't heard of Ubuntu Linux, but I bet it's much better than the earlier version of Linux. Thanks for sharing the information on this, and have a nice day swatig!

Over the last month or two, I have fiddled and dabbled in all sorts of different flavours of linux, and the one that I have decided to stick with for now any way is Puppy Linux.
Tried Unbuntu, but it ran to slow, and i thought it was a bit buggy.
Liked PCLinux 2007 (PCLOS), but had problems with the updating feature.
Loved Mandriva 2008 spring (KDE version), but decided to fiddle with the window manager and then loaded on Mandriva with the XCFE interface, basically the same but with a different window manager. This version just didn't run right and had to go.
Finally, I was going to put mandriva spring 2008 (with KDE) back on, when I had been hearing a lot about Puppy Linux, and tried this first.
Must say, very impressed, added Firefox 3, Office software, Mac look interface (very cool) and its the fastest of all the ones I have tried.
The thing I have found over these past few weeks, is that the support forums, and community groups built up around all of these distributions is top class, and if you have the slightest problem, then someone on one of these forums is likely to be able to solve it for you.
