Can anyone tell me why a lot of Mylot posters refuse to check their spelling?

Just curious. I'm new to the site and I've found a ton of misspellings and grammar mistakes. I find that funny because there seems to be a built in spell checker. Ant ideas? My own theory is the quantity versus quality aspect of typing so fast just to get a ton of posts in an attempt to maximize profits.

'Ant ideas?' Everybody makes mistakes. While I am annoyed when a post is just full of misspelled words and grammar mistakes from a person who is a native English speaker and should have a better handle on the language, I have made a few typos myself. This is an informal forum, not a site for polished, finished pieces of writing. Another thing you have to remember is that many people here are not native English speakers. They don't make mistakes because they are careless and trying to post at lightening speed. They do it because they are just learning the language, and are bound to make some mistakes. Your time will be better spent helping people rather than criticizing them.

I had no idea that MyLot was so global. Whoops. I'm used to seeing mostly US and UK users on the other writing sites. Very cool.

Ant ideas? Sounds like you are guilty of what you are complaining about! My spelling is good but I make my own share of typos. I'm not worrying about maximizing profits, either, I have other online endeavors that are much more lucrative for the amount of time it takes to make a few cents here.

LOL that's so funny. Good catch. I'm new and I guess it is very misleading seeing all the spelling and grammar mistakes. I thought it was a speed thing but I guess I am guilty of my own accusations. I've been writing on a few other sites and spelling seems to be something that actually brings down your ratings. So what other lucrative online endeavors are you talking about. I've got active accounts at Associated Content, Helium, Yahoo Answers, Squidoo, and Mylot. Anything I'm missing?
