I know only Hindi-Native and English-professional. What all languages do you speak? I also know a somewhat of Punjabi but not good at it. I love to learn languages but I am in High School so, my main aim I think is the BOARDS...... isn't it? But still you can atleast tell what languages do you know?

Hi Roopmoney, the languages I know are English and Malay. I can speak and understand Mandarin, but can't read or write. My mother-tougue is Cantonese, which is a dialect in the Chinese language. I'd love to take up German and Japanese; however I'm really very bad at languages, so I gave up.

The United Nations see the Cantonese as a language not a dialect.
You can refer to wikipedia for details.
I like to speak cantonese more than mandarin though my mother tongue is not cantonese(also not mandarin). I find Hongkong cantonese is much softer and more pleasant than mandarin.

I only speak English, and a little Spanish. I know just enough Spanish to get me by in an emergency and a lot of Spanish words for foods, since I used to work in a restaurant many years ago, and I had to communicate with people who did not speak english very well. For the most part though I have not had reason to learn another language. I would like to go to Italy some day and have always wanted to learn to speak Italian. Perhaps one day I will learn. Have a great day!
