OK what happens to a sucide patient in the hospital?

Your probally wondering what kind of question is that, but im writing a book and the mother of the main character is sucideal right now, I want to make it as accurate as possible, so she took her pills almost died and is now in the hospital, what usually happens next in this situation, do they get a ticket (since its illegal to kill yourself) do they have to go to rehab, or what. If there is more than one thing that can happen let me know all senerios so that i can pick and choose the best one for my book thanks
