so I've heard of babies named after days of the week, months, seasons, flowers. but what if someone named there kids after trees? like... oak, pine, redwood, etc.
I've even heard of fruit names well one, Apple. what do you think? wouldn't that be weird or cool because it's different?

It might be cool at the time of birth but would feel bad for the child later as they entered school. Would be a rough way to go with the teasing. Our kids did go to school with two brothers who were named after lemon jello and orange jello. I thought it was a joke when I was told but it's true. Don't know whatever happened to the boys.

I think it's mean if someone names there kids a weird name because they must know that someday they will be picked on for it, you just reminded me that i went to school with a boy name bry fry, bry was his first name and fry was his last i'm not sure if he had a middle name. i also had a neighbor who named her kid boogie, and it really was his name.

I actually met a girl once who had a friend that named her children Oranjello and Lemonjello...In essence, naming them Orange and Lemon Jell-o...I think that's kind of silly. I personally go off of the origin of their last name. If the last name is Irish, their first name will also be Irish or Gaelic. I don't know about naming children after objects. But to each his own :P Thanks for the post :D

It's not someting I would do, but I'm sure in some cultures it is aceptable. Cool to the parents may cause the child to be teased. People need to think o their children's futures before they name their children.

My sister is an artist and named her kids after colors. They names are Ciel, Auburn. I always tell her that I am going to have a nephew named green and a niece named red. My childrens names are unique but I didnt name the after objects.

I truly think naming your child is a personal thing and can be alot of fun. Different and unusual names are coolie but yet one must consider the child's future. Is it a name that is different and yet cool or neat? Or is it a name that by being different, it can easily subject the child to merciless teasing or weirdy comments?
I've heard of Apple being used--in fact, I think some celebrity somewhere used Apple for their daughter. Trees...that'd be more challenging to find names that flow or sound good but definitely fun to try. Maple Dawn? LOL OakDawnRose...PineJack LOL! It certainly has possibilities!
