I wondering why you sell your photos? Is it because to get extra money? Or because you proud with your photos and you want to show to the world that you have a great photos/images?

Hi julianarw! I am not a photographer but if I do have the talent, I will showcase all my photos in every spot/venue I can get and it will be nicer too, if I can sell them. That way, those photos for sure will reach a more wider margin because it will be commercially distributed. I have seen some of your photos before and I really, really like them. However, I am speaking not of an artist but as an entrepreneur. Take care and God Bless!

I have photos posted to sites to sell them. This is my business and I am looking for outlets to sell my product. I have a web site where I post my photos and direct people there to view and hopefully order. I also have photos posted on Stock Websites so that people I do not know who want to use a photo in their work can purchase from em or someone else. I amnot hoping to get rich but just make some extra money for my Business.

Hi,dear friend, Actually,I am the type of person who don't like taking pictures ..The pictures I have in my album is countable..As for the people who sell their pictures on the internet may have their personal reasons..such as the reasons you have listed and I do not agree with some type of person who sell other people's pics without their permition !This is what I can't bear most as I think it is a matter of invasion of privacy...For me I don't like to sell my pics or my friends' pics ..etc on the internet or somewhere else instead I will protect them and their privacy .

Photography is a very expensive hobby! The equipment used in photography costs thousands and thousands upon thousands of dollars. The reason I first got started selling my photos was to make money so that I could afford to keep taking pictures! I mostly take my photos for me, but if I didn't sell some of my photos, I wouldn't be able to keep taking photos for my own enjoyment! Also, I love the feeling I get when someone buys one of my photos! It's like, "Wow. They like my work so much that they would spend their money to buy a picture that I took!" It's just the best form of appreciate I can get, ya know?

I've never actually posted any photos yet on mylot, but I have joined a site before that sells and buys stock photos. I tried to sell some photos on there to make some extra money, but I quickly gave up. It was just too much work, and I did not have much spare time to take any photos.

I started out doing photos as a hobby. Spent close to $1000 to get my first kit (Rebel XT w/ 18-55mm lens). Then realized I wanted telephoto, then a prime, then a tripod, then a flash, then a faster walkaround, then a wider angle, then a faster telephoto, then a better body, etc, etc. Early in the process, I realized that the photos were worth money. I realized that my hobby could be self funding. I sell my photos for several reasons. It funds future photography purchases, which is the #1 reason. I'm proud of everything I shoot that I put up for sale, and those images contribute to my local reputation. Mostly, I came to realize that the easiest way of selling images was via stock agencies. You spend 5 minutes putting an image up for sale, and it's there forever. Technically, you could build an insanely large image collection, and it would have unlimited earning potential. It's a nice long term project, and hopefully it's going to provide some extra regular income when I'm ready to retire.

I have uploaded some of my pictures lately. Not mine personally but funny ones I have found on the internet and other places. I heard as well that you make money off your pictures, so I uploaded a couple. What's the harm? hahaha. I hope someone who actually knows about this subject lists their opinion because I would actually like to know if you make money off of your pictures, because I would start uploading a lot more.

Photograph is my hobby. When I go somewhere I usually take the camera with me.So when I shoot some beautiful pictures,I would like post that photos on the websites, to share with friends. If the photo can generate cash,I will be happy with it.On the other hand,if the photos are criticized by someone,I will learn something to improve my skill.
