Is there one or two childhood memories that you still think about all the time, that you might consider your favorite, and would like to share with us? I would have to say one of my favorite memories as a child was when my grandmother went to church with me and my sisters for the first time, and then had her photo taken with us. She has passed in recent years, and that picture is still hanging in the same spot on the same wall of her house (which my aunt now lives in). Its a simple memory but one i will have forever and that makes me smile every time. How about you, whats your fave?

Spending time at my Aunt Tillie's. She was a terrific person. I don't know what it was about her. She made my favorite breakfast of fried bread dough that she had gotten from the school cafeteria where she worked. She made the hottest baths and had the tallest and best decorated Christmas trees. I don't remember her ever punishing us but when we were at her house we always knew that we had to mind.
She was like a second Mom to us. I miss her a great deal

I would have to say Christmas time is my favorite memory as a child. My Dad would have all of us go to bed early and after Mom and Dad assured that we all were asleep they would bring out the Christmas tree and decorate it. I have very fond memories of that time of year. Mom and Dad would be up all night decorating the tree and they would get finished and put all of the presents under the tree. They would go on to bed and fifteen minutes later us kids would come running into their room shouting that Santa had been there. Poor Mom and Dad would be yanked out of bed and dragged to the living room to see the Christmas Tree with all the presents under it. And of course the glass of milk and cookies were gone that had been left for Santa. The only thing that was left was the empty glass and the plate with just cooky crumbs on it.
I have to back track a little because before Christmas came my Dad worked on a train board to sit the tree on. He did something different every year. One year it was mountains with a tunnel running through it and he put a lot of time in it. Then the next year he not only had the mountains but added a village to it. The next year there was the mountains and the village and he had added clouds and Santa in the sleigh in the middle of the clouds. Dad always made Christmas very speical for us kids. It is something that pops up in my mind quite often and espeically at Christmas time. He made Christmas magical for us.
My Dad passed away almost twenty years ago and I still miss him. The memories that he made for us are still vivid in my heart. He passed away due to colon cancer.

My Dad is gone physically but he lives within my heart. He was a speical man and a speical Dad. I have a picture of my Dad hanging over my computer desk and he always was a good looking man. I love looking at the picture. He was one heck of a man.
The Christmas are so vivid in my memory. And Mom and him never grumbled when we kids rolled them out of bed even though they had just got into bed. I have that memory and many more of the Dad that was awesome.

Hmmm... My favorite childhood memory is when my father built me a study table, then he taught me how to read. I read apple as 'ap-le'.
