survey for money... how true is that?

i have been browsing the internet all day and trying to see what is new on ways to earn money online.
then whenever i tried to do a search it will give me a site that indicates you will earn this and this if you join survey site.
i am amazed how much money you can earn in one survey, it says it ranges from $5-$35 - that's a lot of money for one search.
i tried to see one site (i forgot the name) i closed it as soon as it asked me to pay for the membership.
i dont know how true is that but i checked the BBB and see who are those legit survey site that pays but when i check the site there are so many requirements and i am lazy to do stuff like that without knowing if that is real or not.
i am not looking for new ways to earn coz i already have mylot and this place dont even have enough time from me now so how much more can i afford having another one.
But if there is a true real site for survey paying site who earns $5 per survey then i am willing to do it coz it will take me 30 minutes to do that and have 5 bucks and be in mylot for 2 hours and have $1++ THEN why not.
i am willing to take that extra 30 minutes to answer whatever survey they give me provided they will give me 5 bucks as i think it is well worth it.
i usually google sites before i joined BUT i know there are those people who do participate to blogs or forum and say stuff about the place when they are part if the scam itself so it is kinda hard to trust.
having said that, i know there are a lot of mylotters who do this kind of stuff and can give me a personal reviews about this kind of thing.
any thoughts about it?
do you have a site that really pays when you respond to their survey?
is it worth trying?
any bad experience?
signs to avoid to make sure it is not a scam?
your response is highly appreciated!
thanks a lot!

HI jairgirl,
I was invited once by a site like this but It was very slow...I mean, I can find progress better here in Mylot even if my fingers are painful already due to typing..LOL!
Then I gave up and just focus here..Lately, I was invited to a site which will pay each member like $4.87 if you will write an article and it will be approved!
I am hoping really that it will continue..I have one there so far and tried to come up with another one!
I hope anyone here will really provide us with a real site who is giving that for a survey..I will be willing to do it also!

ANyway, Just today, I was able to connect again from the site! I have not tried receiving yet! I am quite far from the payout! I have seen a lot of members there, so, most probably it's real!

I have tried that before. I really earned money from the survey I attended. It's not an online survey.
I saw some survey from internet and it stated the amount they will pay for the survey. Then I email to the person in-charge, they will call to make sure I'm really suitable to attend the survey. After finished the survey, they paid me cash.
There are some survey really will pay.

hi meiyeec511,
thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts.
i honestly dont like giving my phone number to anybody so having said that i dont like to join anything that will require my personal information be it just a phone number coz i hate receiving telemarket stuff.
anyway, i am happy that you did earn from that survey site you found and i hope you keep earning to everything you have.

Any legitimate market research survey company should never ask you for money to join. They should be paying you to provide your opinion. The survey companies I am registered with are free to join, and I have made some decent money with them. You can check my profile for the companies I am doing really well with, and I have written about them on my blog. Realistically, you can expect to make $1-$10 a survey, mostly depending on the length of the survey. Occasionally you can get higher paying surveys once you are established as a regular survey taker. It's best to join multiple companies so that you'll have survey invites frequently, since most legitimate companies on send a couple surveys a week or month.

hello ambitiouz,
thanks for sharing your opinion and for giving great insights about survey sites. i will check you profile and see your earning sites.
your suggestion to me make a lot of sense, how much time do you spend each day for this survey site?
how long have you been part of it?
my apology if ever you mention this answer already in your profile and i havent check it yet.
anyway, i wish you all the best.

yes, if a survey is true then i feel that it is an easy way to earn something really and you can learn from doing that as well.
so you are new to it as well, 3 months and you are already earning - great for you.
1-2 hours is a decent amount of time and i am willing to spend that much time as well if the site is legit and i can earn something out of it.
anyway, will check your site soon and appreciate your response.
all the best!

sure, I started taking surveys about 3 months ago. I thought that most were scams in the beginning so I didn't start until recently. I am glad I did because surveys are relatively an easy way to make some extra money online. Most survey take about 15-30 minutes, sometimes a little less or more. Most companies will pay higher for longer surveys. If you sign up with multiple companies, you'll get invites frequently. I take about 1 or 2 hours a day to do surveys. hope that helps. take care.

I belong to several survey groups that really do pay. I often write about them in my blog. Some are by invitation only but I have never paid for the list of the ones that pay. You will not make a whole lot of money taking surveys and there are some that do screeners that you find out you are not even qualified for. But if you will take the time to join some and try them out, you will make some extra money. I have been paid from $1 to $20 so far for different surveys and each company has it's own thing. It's legitimate to expect about $50 to $100 a month if you have enough companies that you are doing them for. The initial signup and profiles are what takes the most time, and it is easy to get frustrated when starting.
To me the payoff is more than worth it. Just don't expect to make $35 per survey, those come few and far between. I hope this helps.

Dear Jair
I can recommend a survey site, if you already do not know about it. You get paid 2 dollars but we in Sri Lanka will get only about 6 surveys for a year. It is mostly for the western countries. I have got only 2 surveys last year. I hear that if you are in America you get more surveys. Try it out through my link if you are not a member already.
https://www.surveysavvy.com?id=1533666&action=join
If you get more surveys in America you can earn some money as the surveys are sooo easy. You can also get referrals to increase your earnings. There is no joining fee. It is free of charge.

To my mind I think a lot of those survey type sites are scams. One has to be careful, since sometimes you do these surveys and you wind up having to buy something just to advance to the end of the survey to be credited for it. Either that or lots of times through these surveys you fill out tons of forms that ask for you to fill out your name, address and phone number..next thing you know you're getting a zillion calls from telemarketers..I know cause I had this happen to me..so I gave those darn things up. One place I used to belong to was CashCrate...according to all the surveys I filled out I had earned something like $40.00 but it was "pending"---and pending and pending for two months...like what was the deal there..I got frustrated since I had done all those surveys, technically speaking earned money, but always in the pending status..so I just closed the account out. In other words I don't think they ever intended to pay me

hello pye,
thanks for sharing your own experience and for giving the name of the site - i will keep that in mind.
i stayed with a friend last year and she mention to me about joining a survey site and she mention it will pay good.
she is part of it but didnt get any money from them but i swear her home phone never stops ringing and they are telemarketers, not sure if its because of the survey site or if its because her phone is listed in yellow pages.
anyway, i am still skeptical with survey site as i heard more negative than positive about it and really the only place that i feel really pay that i am a member of is mylot.
is cashcrate an american company?
i wonder if someone reported them to BBB, i said this coz i saw some survey site in BBB site and when i checked it it is closed, strange!
anyway, thanks for the heads up!
have a good one!

I belonged to a bunch of survey sites for a while, but I lost interest because it seemed I would spend 20 minutes answering questions just to be told I didn't qualify. Now I stick to GPTs so I know straight up what I'm making each day. I don't like wasting an hour answering questions for nothing. Especially when the questions are about things that have nothing to do with the demographics or product being surveyed.

hello wallie,
yes, i figure that those who ask for money are scams or if they are real you will need a lot of great time to spend there to get your money back.
anyway, i have found some free sites but dont know how true they are so i am still in the process of reviewing 'em.
takecare!
