Astrology is a form of divination based on the theory that themovements of the celestial bodies—the stars, the planets, the sun, andthe moon—influence human affairs and determine the course of events.Astrology and Astronomy are both thousands of years old. One of theearliest cycles that man paid attention to were the cycles of day andnight, of the moon and sun wheeling around in the sky. Men navigated bythe stars and gave names to the constellations. They gave meaning toeach part of the cycle and to each part of the sky. Astrologers dividedeach year up into twelve parts, and named each section after theconstellation which was primary during that section of time. The SunSign for a person describes which quadrant the sun is found in duringthe person's birth. Each constellation, or sign, has a set ofpersonality characteristics associated with it. These all indicate where the heavenly bodies were situated atthe person's birth. These all influence the person's personalities indifferent ways.
