M.S.Dhoni is the latest sensation in Indian cricket. But, as usual, there are critics against him. His wicket keeping skills are not that great, according to experts. In fact, his wicket keeping skills are going to be challenged by Dinesh Karthick who was also selected for the oncoming South Africa tour?
Then, the next question is, can he retain the place in the team just based on his batting skills? Let me start the ball rolling.

Dhoni is good batsman, good captain. He is lucky also,he got a good team.
His wicket keeping skills are not good but, he is making his presence felt
so he can make the critics keep quiet.

he is a very good batsman and can be very handy for the indian team in the slog overs.
he has performed very well in the past matches for india.
but his keeping ability is not upto the standards and he is working very hard on it. karthick is in the squad as a second wicket-keeper but i don't think that india can afford to drop dhoni because he gives strength to the lower middle order. also karthick has been performing very well with the bat and he's also a good fielder. so unless sehwag gets going, i think karthisk will play as a batsman.

Dhoni is a very good wicket keeper, but not enough for the indian team. But I think he should be in the indian team for his excellent batting skill.

Agreed. I think Dhoni has performed extremely well when he came in at No. 3. So, include Dinesh Karthick as the main wicket keeper and Dhoni as a batsman coming in at 3. India needs some fresh thinking to get out of the recent slump in their one-day form.
Many teams are having two wicket keepers in their line-up.
