I totally understand what you're saying. I didn't think I was creative, even though I also developed websites and other things. That's more mechanical than creative. But, about 8 years ago, I started getting ideas. After taking notes and thinking about them for a couple of years, I sat down and wrote my first novel. Now I can't stop.
Creativity is always just under the surface.

I guess I'm just creative in minds&thoughts, not in practice.

I definitely do not think I am creative. I am not very good with crafts although I do like to knit. But even then, I follow a pattern. I can, however, write a decent article on just about anything, provided I can do some research on the topic. I don't think that means I am creative though.

I feel exactly same but I am naturally creative person. I just do not see it as others do. I created artwork and museum curators, families, and other strangers loved it and see it as creative. I didn't like it but it is creative and it is from my mind. Everyone is creative in many ways not only for art.

I do think of myself as creative, though I go through periods when my creativity waxes and wanes. I like painting, sewing, crocheting, drawing and decorating. I also enjoy writing, though most of my writing is informational rather than creative. Though I haven't done much yet, I do want to do more creative writing, because I think I am capable, but I just haven't gotten the inspiration or confidence to put my thoughts to paper just yet.

Yes I love creating things and often consider myself to be creative, whether I am or not is a matter for debate! I am forever trying new crafts and things though generally without much success!
In order to be a successful creative person I think that you need to have a great deal of patience as creativity often takes time. This is where I fall down, patience is not a strong point at all in me!
I guess to some extent I am creative with words but even that can be doubtful at times :)
