Director and why. I myself am a huge fan a Sam Raimi. I love his direction in the early Evil Dead films. His interpretation of scripts is amazing. It's hard to see the same director in his early work compared to his recent pop hits. But it is all in the camera I believe. If you watch his early films you can see innovative shots that show creativity on a low budget. Then you get to the Spiderman flicks and you see the magic he created for those. And on top of that look for the car... Every movie Sam Raimi makes he throws in that old yellow beat-up Olds. The same car from Evil dead can be seen in all his movies.

That's a tough one. I like a lot of different directors. David Fincher has a unique dark style. I like Robert Rodriguez for his amazing work on Sin City and Planet terror. Martin Scorsese is a God not only for his longevity but of course for his amazing abilities. All that said, I must admit that my favorite director right now is Tim Burton. He has a style that is nearly impossible to match and he always brings the best out in the actors that are under his command. The settings on his films are magnificent, the color schemes are very vibrant even when they're dark.

All good directors, for sure. Robert Rodriguez is a close second in my own book of favorites. That man is amazing and he knows how to make a mean pueco pibil (on the special features of Once Upon A Time In Mexico). Tim Burton is amazing at what he does. I'm especially impressed that he shot Corpse Bride with a still camera instead of a film camera. Very cool. When Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, and Johnny Depp get working on a movie I will always be in line at the theaters. Thanks for the comment.
