The only thing that's ever worked for me is not so much a diet as a lifestyle. I have found that if I take in less sugars, and especially don't drink anything with sugar in it, like soda's, and exercise regularly, that I am able to maintain a healthy weight.

I love sugar as well and probably have eaten more candy and sweets than anyone you know. I thought it would be impossible for me to ever even think of giving up sweets, but it's really not so bad once I got past the first couple of days. I didn't go cold turkey, and I will still eat something sweet occassionally just to keep me from going bezerk on sweets! And I do drink sodas, but they are ones that I can stand (NO DIET COKE! Bleh!)
And as for exercise, basically as long as I walk daily, I do pretty good. Nothing extreme. Just being active helps.
