Anyone know why they did away with head chopping as punishment?

an axeman or guillotine would be more humane, cheaper, and quicker than electric chair and lethal injection in my opinion and a great visual lesson for anyone thinking of commiting a heinous crime.

Amen! And the bleeding out would make the coroner's life easier too.In fact catching the blood and donating to a local blood bank would make a criminal's final act a good one. This form of punishment should only be used for murders, not lesser crimes. In fact I think they should start with Saddam instead of hanging him.

bet it would do away with prison overcrowding if they brought it back worldwide and made it more public.

They did away with it because society grew to find it too inhuman. LOL, sometimes I wish it was still around to thin out the crowd a bit.

They probably did away with it because it is very nauseating and very grotesque. But it would be a great way for offenders to teach future offenders or persons thinking about doing crimes. I am also sure that somewhere in this world, people are still using it though.
