oh my, i dont think its a good idea. I wish they made it in just one part but that would run for 4 hours straight! haha... it might sound a pain in the butt, but at least the excitement and curiosity in the last movie is still there. I wish, since Harry potter mania is already a big history, JKR herself made it even bigger. Like maybe, she made the last movie one of the longest film running in history. I think Gone with the Wind is a long movie, i wish HP 7 was one too. How bout dividing the film in 2 parts, with just 30 minutes pause in between? a space to buy popcorn, more drinks, bathroom break, sumthin like that... i think its better than waiting for months before the next part of the 7th film!

That's a great idea pearl1003. Anticipating the second part would be a drag. I hope the second part will not be disappointing because a long wait for the fans of HP would have high expectations. I like it that 7 is that long, the story would be much more detailed. I hope so. I can't wait to watch it!

Accdg to Veritaserum.com, the HP staff couldnt cut any scenes from the 7th book. It's hard to choose which part should be eliminated so they are going to divide the film in two. They said that every part is important so they are trying to squeeze all scenes into one film. Unfortunately, they had to make it into a two part film! And guess what? the first part was rumored to end when Ron came back to reunite with Harry and Hermione.

I'm not thrilled about the idea either. It makes me wonder if they've already got an idea of how big of a send off they're going to give Harry. I can see a studio's side of it...more bang for their buck. Two movies will probably bring in more money, especially if people are anxiously waiting for the second.
Then you look at movies like Gone With The Wind or Titanic. Both long but they were hits. So why can't the last Harry Potter movie do the same?
If they do end up with two movies, maybe they could release them at or around the same time. Then we wouldn't have to wait months to say goodbye to Harry.

Hi pearl, I agree with you that we can't sit for hours to watch a movie. It will be a back pain LOL. I think that the story cannot be cut to make only one movie because people that don't readed the book cannot understand many things. Still more that the last book explain all the things that happened in all the story. We follow Harry Potter for 7 years, so why not wait a little more?

I agree with you. I wouldn't mind sitting there for a few hours to see the last movie. Some people might not want to wait for the second part. They might want to see it all at once. Unless they want to drag it out in two parts so people will have to go and pay again to see it.
