WEll guys here is what has been happening with me the last few days. Yesterday I had yet another epidural, my third since March, to try to relieve the constant pain I am in with my back and leg. Unfortunately the first injection wouldn't work, seemingly my ligaments have calcified so I had to go through it twice, won't turn your stomach with graphic details but luckily the second one worked and is still working today! Okay my leg is still numb and I cannot walk alone really but at least I am in no pain! Yesterday and today has shown me how lucky I am and that I ma blessed to have so many good friends around who will go to great lengths to help me out and to make me feel better.
This feeling was totally confirmed a while ago when a gorgeous bouquet of flowers was delivered to my door from a very good friend and their family, I was so touched that they had spared the time , thought and effort (not to mention money) to show me that i was cared for and people - even those far away - reached out in the most unexpected way to show some support and love to a friend!
I am not going to mention any names here but to that lovely friend and their family I want to Thank You for such a wonderful surprise! I have met many friends on mylot and some have just blown me away with their love and support and although we may call ourselves 'on line friend' I believe that many of us have made real connections that will survive time and distance and always be there! Now hands up who agrees with me! Hugs to all

I always say whatever you give you you get back twofold! Treat others the way you expect to be treated yourself, you are warm, you are loving, you are supportive and you look after your friends and that's why I am proud to call you my sis, my very dear sis! You deserve everything sis because you are so giving and a wonderful person that I have had the pleasure to know and hopefully will meet in the flesh (oooer!) in the not too distant. I just wish I could wave my big wand and make all what you have to go through end. So shall I get it out now? Or later ;0) You are an inspiration to us all! Mega Wolfie hugs xxxx

Bless your heart I know that had to of been very painful. I hate leg pain myself so I understand I get it but usally a pain pill helps me. Yours had to of been a lot worser. I get back and shoulder pain also. I have had to have 6 trigger point injections. They help for awhile but that shot does hurt when I get it.

I'm so glad to hear that the second epidural relieved your pain, dear mo. I'm responding a bit late, sorry about that, but I really hope that you're still experiencing less pain.
My hands are up, I totally agree with you concerning friendship on mylot or throughout mylot. I'm sure that many real friendships have started here. It must have been so moving to receive the flowers from one of the friends you've met here. These kind of things can really warm your heart, can't they?
I've known you here too and somehow feel that I know you, I treasure your friendship and admire your positive attitude.
A big hug and tons of love

Darling mummymo, I'm so happy that you're out of pain for even a moment - you know what my motto is these days, don't you? "Any relief is good relief" that's it. I'm quite sure you can relate more than almost anyone else. Hopefully, this time, it will really 'take' and you'll be out of pain for longer than a moment. I can't even imagine what you must go through with all of that. And the fact that you won't take pain medication just blows me away - although I fully understand why you choose not to, and it makes lots of sense, but still, I don't know that I could be that strong. Ok, yes I do, and I absolutely couldn't. Nope, I have to have the pain meds - I really don't know how you've survived without them, honestly. But maybe this epidural will do the trick. I'm crossing my fingers, toes, anything that can be crossed, and I'm even saying my 'prayers' about it for you. Not very many people get my prayers, darlin. I save them for the really important stuff, like you. And Robin, and Spark.
I saw that you mentioned that lilies are your favorite flower and I'd have to agree with you there, they're the most wonderful things, aren't they? I love them too, so much. I love tiger lilies, which I had in my wedding bouquet when I married Stuie, and I love the Stargazer lilies, my goodness, how beautiful they are, and they smell like absolute heaven! And I love calla lilies - oh my, there's nothing like a calla lily. But I'd have to put gardenias in there too, as a favorite flower. I've loved them since I was a teen, so that's a reallllllly long time. Between gardenias and stargazer lilies, I think that's what heaven must smell like, honestly.
And as far as friends that we've made here, online, on the Lot, I completely agree with you. They're some of the best friends I've ever had. It's funny, I tell P1ke he's one of my very best friends, and I think he's amused by that, but it's really true. But you, mummy, you're so very special. I always feel you from across the miles. You're one of god's angels here on earth, I believe that with all my heart. Maybe Friday we could Skype together. That would be wonderful. Today and tomorrow are rather full, but Friday is looking good - if it's good for you, let me know, and we'll set up a time or something, yes?
Ok, just got an e-mail from my sister, and I'm going to go see what she's up to. But I'll see you soon, please. I love you, mum. XXXXX

Nova I have read this about 5 times now and each time i cry a little more - good tears though!
I can relate to the any relief theory I really can and to tell you the truth if I didn't have the kids to consider at all (even though they are both gone at the moment) I would probably live in a painkiller haze no matter how effective they are but my kids have enough to cope with from me without me being out of it on medication all the time. How I cope is easy, I have a wonderful family and friends around me who help to support me and prop me up when things get too difficult for me - and you know that you are one of them - as for our beloved p1ke - well what would any of us do without him? Unthinkable!
If I am an angel I must be one of those with a dirty face! lol Thank you for being there for me as always - I just wish there was something I could do for you, I wish I could hug you and make everything seem brighter for you. I am so glad you can feel me - I hope you feel the love I am sending you right now!
I would love to talk to you on Friday - I shall make sure skype is on all day , just give me a call when you are ready! xxx

Hi Mummymo, so pleased to hear that you are in no pain now. What a lovely suprise receiving that bouquet of flowers must have been and from another myLotter, well all I can do is agree with you here in that these people are true people and true friends whether they are labelled virtual or not. I have been blessed enough to have met two and even without those meetings know deep down that if I ever needed help and support they would be there for me. MY HANDS ARE UP IN AGREEMENT WITH YOU! Huggles. Ellie :D

That is SO FANTASTIC!! They didn't work for me. I wish you continued success with the injection. I know what they are like, I had 3 sets of 3. They are not a pleasant procedure to go through. I have had so many different procedures that involved needles for constant debilitating pain so I know where you are coming from! It is frustrating to go through a painful procedure only to have it not work!!!
Again, congratulations and keep up the great work!

Thank you so much myangelgirl! I understand what you are saying about so many procedures with needles - just as well we don't have a phobia of them! I do hope that you found something to either get rid of the pain or to make it more bearable. Thanks again and a huge welcome to Mylot! xxx
