Hi I wouldn't say I was afraid of blowing up balloons, but it's not my favourite task in the world. When I was little I had one blow up in my face, and it really stung as it caught my eye. This did put me off for ages, and then when I started working with children I often organise events where we need balloons blowing up, so I have to join in. I have since had another experience though, as a couple of years ago I was blowing up a particularly awkard... 'I dont want to be blown up', type balloon, when I blew too hard, and burst a blood vessel across my eye. It was horrible as it was on the day before Christmas Eve and the party season, so guess who was avoiding as many photos as possible. I found in the end, people would ask me what happened and I couldn't keep a straight face when I told them I was blowing up a balloon. So no, it's not a fear, but I know how things come in 3's so I haven't attempted again since.

I've actually never heard of someone that was afraid to blow up a balloon but I have heard of balloon fears while watching oprah one day. I find it kind of humorous because I thought it was scripted but it actually wasn't. Are you scared of balloons? Or just scared of Sudden noises? If your scared of sudden noises, just don't blow the balloon up to it's fullest potential. In my case, I don't really "hate" blowing up a balloon but I enjoy it because I let go once I have reached it to its full potential because it flies around and makes a farting noise. Many of my friends think I'm childish but oh well.

I'm not afraid of blowing up ballons. The sound they make when they pop though drives me nuts. That's why when I'm blowing up ballons I try not to blow them up too much because I do not want them to burst on me. I really hate when they burst, especially when you're trying to blow them up because they really hurt!

I'm never been afraid of balloons actually. It's just a little odd in my opinon to be afraid of something like that. Oh well. Some fears are odder than others.

I've never heard of anyone who was afraid to blow up a balloon! :) That's kind of an endearing quality haha. I don't get nervous or scared when blowing one up, but I don't particularly like when they pop in my face or anything. Granted, it doesn't happen that often, I tend to only blow them up partially so that they don't get so big and tight that they burst!
