EMT certification

YEAH! I am so excited! In Sept, I will be starting class to recertify as an EMT. I was one years ago, and was about to go the fire academy, then found out I was pregnant. So it blew that plan out of the water. But the kids are growing up now, and I have a chance to not only get recertified...but to have the military pay for it! HURRAY! As a military spouse, they are now offering a way for us to get certified in portable and high demand careers and have it paid for by the military and the state. Since so many of us have lost jobs, or can't hold jobs due to all the moving. So I am thrilled! Nov. 6th I complete the class. I can't wait. Then I have a year of working so I can go on to get my paramedic. just had to share my excitement!!!! :)

Congrats on the new baby and very cool on starting again as an EMT! I think it's great that they're coming up with programs so that military spouses can be employed that they can keep as they move. We moved around a lot because my dad was associated with the military and my mom was constantly frustrated at the possibility of finding a job she liked and losing it in a month...maybe a couple of months.
