why hide the real you?

It is very hard to hide the real you. It is better to show what you arte in an early stage of getting to know each other. After all, if she/he truly loves you, she/he will accept whowever/whatever you are.
Just come in an open and discuss freely who you are. Dont let them discover the real you.

i don't really understand the part about hiding myself. to me it's really important to show the real me in the beginning of the relationship. i would never change myself for someone and certainly don't expect anyone to change for me. it's better to know what's the real deal before committing so much time and feelings. i want my partner to accept who i really am, not some make-believe me that i think he'll like. how long can i keep up the pretense? i don't think it's practical to pretend to be someone else, hoping to impress your partner. it's really not healthy you know?

I think that it is good to show the real you without too many being too pretentious especially to a future mate in life. You are right that somebody will accept you no matter what so just avoid being something else and show your true self right away to avoid problems later. After a while the real you comes out anyway even if it is years later.
