I think on most things I do find my parents old fashioned. Ii found them old fashioned on music, relationships, curfews, outings and I'm sure alot more when I was 18, can't quite remember now.
But I think all generations to some degree will find their parents old fashioned. Everyone is influenced to some degree by society at the time, and norms, morals and acceptable behavior changes over time as society changes.
Think of a simple thing like music. The music that is "hip" today will probably not be as "hip" 10 years from now and when you appreciate the music from your generation you will be regarded as 'old fashioned'.
I think also that as we grow older we get more mature and we realise or have learned from the 'stuff' we did when we were young. So what seemed "cool" when you were 18, looking back when you are 30+ probably isn't so cool anymore and parents generally point that out to their kids thus coming across as old fashioned.

absolutely right,
with the time changing and the informations we are being provided with every day, it's hard to believe that the one with todays knowledge would think the same as the one with yesterday's knowledge..
so it's natural to have the understanding differences and the terms old fashioned, and fashioned will exist no matter what!

Someimes I think they are old fashioned beause of how they look at the genders. I think it's old fashioned for a woman to change her name whne she gets married. I think that custom reflects a time when women were nothing more than a man's property.

in the middle east the rule of changing the last name of a woman when she gets married is not applied, so she still keeps her last name even after marriage,
in some countries the man chages his last name , not the woman, I wonder if that's considered to be possessing the man by the woman!
what do you think?
