Has anyone filed bankruptcy and give me your experience please

Hi,
My hubby and I are filing bankruptcy this month. We have a ton of credit card bills plus a large loan for the air conditiong/heating systems we had put in last year. From what the attorney said, we won't have to pay back any of these loans. We still get to keep our house thank goodnes.
The car and truck we have loans against them but we are going to keep paying on them so we get to keep them too. I know it will be probably be 7-10 years before we can get credit again, but that's okay because we don't want to get in this mess again.
What are your experiences with filing bankruptcy?
