How many people know Harvey?

Ireland

This is aimed at mostly Irish and British people, but hey anyone can join in. When I was a kid I loved Harvey, the invisible 6 foot 3 inch rabbit from the classical film of the same name 1950. I walked across Australia, and Harvey doesnt like walking so he sat in a wheelchair most of the way ;-) I now hope to do the same from Dublin to Glasgow to Cardiff to London, so at the moment, if anyone who would like to get involved, walk with, or put me up for a night, or write a story in your local newspaper, or bring your video camera and do a mini documentary, then please contact me. The whole thing is about fun, peace, imagination and anything positive. It may be postponed till next spring, but interest is growing, but at the moment, the more people I know beofer it starts the better. More about Harvey and his travels ;-) http://harvey.travellerspoint.com/74/

Oh yes I love that film. It was Jimmy Stewart, but I do not remember the name of the character. What a great idea, as it is true that when you talk about invisible things you are not limited in what you are talking about. I will have a look at the web link and see what you are aiming at. If it is mostly fun, then sure ill pass the word around, but I do not know any journalists who wish to write a little bit about it. Best a luck with your journey. Slan Susanne

Thank you Susanne. Im chuffed that some one who has seen the film. Many didn't really get this film when it came out, as it is pretty intellectual if you really look at it, and the Pooka thing is a legendary Irish myth of sorts, not everyone would know what it means. However the film has taken today as a classic, and I hope more sees it. Cheers Frank

I know of Harvey and your own version of its meaning but I have never actually seen the movie. It is not easy to find DVD's for the older classics, but I will have a look for it. Ill pass the word around to anyone I know in the media. Lyn

Thanks Lynda. You wrote a lovely piece about it before, I appreciate it. And yes any contacts are welcomed, as I had many media contacts in Australia but strangely very few in Ireland, and less in the UK. I am looking forward to walking to London, as the British sense of humour is made for this project. Namaste Frank
