I have two brothers, one 3 years older and one that is 10 years younger. I really had a hard time with the older brother because he would tease me unmercifully. The younger one was like a baby doll to me. I did a lot for him and we have a close bond because of it. My older brother and I are close now that we are adults.
My parents were interesting. My mother was lenient but my father was strict. I remember that the worse that could happen was for mother to say that she was going to tell my father what I had done. My parents are now both deceased but thank God my brothers are still with me.
My younger brother and his family now live in our family home in Maryland. When we lived there it was considered country but now it is the good old suburbs. Life was good there but there was no neighbors and I had to go to school on a train. It is fun to think back on things like this. My older brother lives on the eastern shore in Maryland and my husband and I live in Florida. We do keep in touch each week and look forward to our visits together in the summer and during the holidays.
I love to think back and remember things about growing up.

When I was little my family moved around alot while my father was looking from a job...and I am talking about moving from Chicago to Eastern KY....so it was a littl ebit of a culture shock for my mother....but she can adapt ot anything. For my 2 older brothers (6 and 13 years older) and I it was kinda like an adventure. Because we lived in many different places....from apartments in the city to a cottage in Keno KY that locals (all my father's relatives practically) called "Tick Valley" where the only type of water you got was well water or systern water...we had a systern and when the weather was bad the water truck couldn't bring it up the hill....crazy funny stories there in Tick Valley....
Eventually we moved to Western KY and my parents and I still live there...whereas my brothers live in Illinois and Ohio with thier families. I think because we moved around so much we had to be close, because it was hard ot make new friends all the time....but we mastered that...and we had to depend on one another...
We seemed closer then compared to now. But my family is quite unique and close sompared to many nowdays....Even though it was hard on us growing up I know it has helped shaped me for the person I am today. And only a strong family could have survived everything and still smile in the end.
Now I am feeling nostalgic...thanks for the topic. It made me smile.
