Has anyone seen the ads for these? Has anyone tried it? If so is it really as good as it seems? Are there any hidden charges?

I signed up for mystery shopping a few months ago, but I wasn't really able to do any of them because I didn't have a car at the time. I think it's worthwhile only if you were going to purchase the item anyway.

I have done it before but the last comany I signed up for was no good. It was shadow shopper and they threw a bunch of spam into my inbox and I got no jobs. I did it in the past for a company that paid you to go to restaurants and bars. it was ok, but your reports had to be very detailed. I also mystery shopped for a short time for Safeway. They only pay min. wage until you have several sucessful reports.

I mystery shop. And no there are no hidden charges. If you mystery shop for fast food places they will reimburse you for your meal plus something for doing the job. It maybe isn't alot (unless they need to have someone do the job quickly then you get a bonus) but if you live in town or are going there anyway, why not? Most jobs pay between $10-$20 + the cost of the food. I enjoy it but would not do it unless I happen to be going to town for groceries or something as the cost of gas would not be worth it otherwise.

I get checks pretty frequently by these mystery shoppers in my area. I know I've signed up for these things before, but I was sceptical. I took one of these checks to a bank, chase. They were very helpful. They looked at the water mark and confirmed that it was a valid check and they also had a legit website. The banker then proceeded to tell me that they changed the name on the check. The font was only a little different, they had to use a microscope to see the changes. What these people do is send out checks, recieve money from a wire transfer out of that check, then they cancel payment on them. It's an elaborate scam and I see it pretty frequently.

Never done the mystery shopper thing. I have tried other things similar and they are all scams. Probably another scam if you ask me

They say they are easy and no strings. Then they want your address, phone number, email, etc. Your inbox gets loaded with spam. I just stay away from that stuff.
