What is the hardest thing you've ever had to tell your child?

I've been thinking about the fact that my parents may be splitting up and I may have to tell my children. I've had to tell them about other relatives getting divorced, but this would certainly be the hardest....if it comes to that, and I hope it doesn't. I start to cry just thinking about telling them. Just wondering....what is the hardest thing you've ever had to tell your child and how did you get through it?
