Sick of smear tactics

Everyday I check my email only to find a pile of anti Obama garbage. I am sick of it. I check the facts and dispute everyone I find to be untrue and it does not stop these people. If I began smearing McCain it would only give dems a bad rep so I refuse to. Am I the only one who thinks we should occupy our time trying to help the country instead of smearing our potential leaders?

I'm with you 100%. I think people believe anything they hear just to give themselves a reason to dislike him. It's mind blowing to me that people can believe he's a Muslim yet criticize him for going to a Christian church for 20 years. How people can believe totally contradictory ideas is way beyond me. I agree that people should stop wasting their time with such meaningless garbage and start worrying about some real issues.

What an excellent point! There are members here who constantly repeat every one of these disgusting e-mail rumors and there's one in particular who has in the same post claimed that Obama was a practicing Muslim for 31 years and that he went to Reverend Wright's Christian church for over 20 years. Talk about fuzzy math!

Smear tactics have been part of every campaign I can ever remember, but Obama has suffered more of these ugly rants than anyone else. I know people who still believe all that Muslim and Terrorist garbage, and an elderly woman in the grocery stor line told me that she expected him to have camps erected and to round up everyone who wasn't black! He'd have to join us, because he's not all that black, either. It really stinks!
Welcome to myLot, zengirl. You're going to find that it's a really great community. It won't take you long to discover whom to avoid and whom to join in a chat.
I have an idea. When we're asked our race when we fill out forms, let's all write in,"human"!

I'm sick of it too! It's always gotten dirty during Presidential campaigns but this is the worst I've ever seen. Like you said, if we started smearing McCain it would give the Democrats a bad name besides it seems like nothing sticks to him. He can flip-flop on everything he's ever said, he can make serious foreign policy gaffes and have an economic adviser that calls us all a bunch of whiners and you hardly hear about it anywhere. Then they say the media is liberal!
Welcome to myLot!
