Is anyone else having problems with Sprint since it merged with Nextell?

Me and my husband have our own accounts with sprint and recently we been thinking about switching to another cell phone company. All of a sudden our payment date was changed so it added 2 months together which has made it hard for us to get caught up and if you try to call about it customer service has been rude. Well my husbands contract is up and he got a letter in the mail saying they would like him to renew his 2 year contract and they would give him a 75 dollar discount on his next bill, so he called the 1-800 # and they told him sure, so he asked about getting a new phone (usually when we renew we get a new phone free, unless we want a bigger better phone) and they told him he could get a new phone free, well he asked the lady if he could give me his phone (since mines not working right) and put it under my account. She said yes but that we needed to go to the store that day, so we did. We got to the store, and the sales associate told my husband he could not get a new phone because his contract had already been renewed. My husband never renewed it, he had bought a new phone with his own money before, but they told him no he could not get a phone because that automatically renewed his contract. So I asked them about my account my contract is already up and they said I could buy a phone, but they don't do free phones anymore with contract renewals. I think they are a waste of time and what incentive do I have to renew my contract if I am offered nothing in return! To make it worse, the manager would not come out of her office to speak to my husband for no reason, her own employee told us he did not know what her problem was. So my husband called the main manager to report her. So the main manager told my husband for all his trouble they would go ahead and try to give him a new phone. Well he called my husband back saying no he could not give him a new phone and that he was sorry. And he told my husband that the employee got in trouble for saying his manager was doing nothing. I think the manager should have gotten in trouble!!! Sorry about the long post, I just needed to vent.

sprint sucks so bad. every phone i get from them just randomly stops. i baby my phones. and when they stop, they find some stupid reason for the 50 dollar insurance i buy to not cover it. so i have to buy a new phone and they tack on the extra years to my plan. i've gone through three razors in the past year. im now up to 6 years on a plan. and i tell them i buy the phone at full price. i dont have to add years. i've called every manager and owner in the company, i swear. and they say they cant reverse whats been done. theres also no service anywhere. and my phone calls always drop randomly. my texts never send. i hate sprint.

Oh my gosh, your stuck in a 6 year plan with Sprint. How did they trick you into that? Thats awful!! When were were at the local store 3 people in front of us were cancelling their memberships because they were dissatisfied. I think they only way they can scam people into renewing is to trick them. I hope things work out better for you. (Maybe you can get another company to buy your contract out?)

I feel you on the Sprint deal. I have had nothing but problems with them. In the begining we lived in Illinois by St. Louis. We got great service, and then we moved to Ohio. I guess we are not in a coverage area. So they wouldn't do anything for us. I have since cancelled service and went with a local provider.

I had sprint for sometime & never really cared for them much either... My first "digital" phone was from them when they first came out... Had'em for almost 4 years... Then I went to T-mobile but after a while, I went to Nextel because of my work, most of the people I worked with at the time had nextel & financially, it just made sense at the time... Then about 1 1/2 year after I signed up with nextel, they merged with Sprint... Then my service with nextel progressively got worse... Then I got their hybrid phone... A lot of problems with that too... So I canceled my contract, paid $200 to get out of it, & not I'm back to t-mobile... I'm happy with them... I never should've left tmobile in the first place...
