i think till now i never read any article about it. it is not possible to become infected with an STD as a result of kissing However, you could pass on cold sores (herpes simplex, HSV1) to your partner through kissing.
I think it's pretty much just herpes 1.
I wouldn't kiss someone who had an STD though... especially not if it was active and there was any risk of there being cuts in their mouth... seems like a bad idea. ;-)
