Of course it's acceptable. I just can't find a reason why... Is is because it looks odd? Personally, I try eating left handed at times just for the sake of it, for fun -- even in public occasions.

Hi alpha, My opinion is, no one should try to correct a left handed person from using their left hand, they do not need any correcting. That would be the same thing as saying if you were to sit a dinner table with all left handed people would it be right for them to correct you so that you use your left hand instead of your right hand? No it would be wrong. It is funny, it's always the right handed people who complain, you never hear a left handed person complain about people who are right handed. Hmmmm something to think about.

Overwings, I never thought of that, how uncomfortable for someone who is left handed to use those tables. So can you write with both hands?

What could be wrong with using your left hand to eat? God gave both of them for us to use. If he had not meant for us to use either, he would have given us only one. My daughter used both her hands to write with when she went to Kindergarten. She has a beautiful handwriting. But the teacher wanted her to make a choice so she chose her left hand. I haven't felt any different towards her for using her left hand. I'm just thankful she has a hand with which to write. Some aren't that fortunate.

I think things like that are accepted more in todays society, infact only writing lefthanded has ever been 'policed' in my experiences.
I am left handed and thats it, never was it a conscious decision, it's just something in my life I accepted.
I'm right handed golfer, cricketer, but kick left footed....that's life!

Yes,it is acceptable and also passable.
Differnt people have diffierent habits, why should we force someone to correct?
Left-handed people are often brighter than our normal people.

Hi
I am right handed and do almost all works with my right hand. If some body using the left hand we should not ask them to change that. Their brain is working like that and if we try to change this forcefully it will affect their ability to do things since they can not write or do things with their right hands like others do.
If a person is left handed, it is his natural way to use left hand to eat. Many people are doing like that. They primarily use their left hand. If they can eat with right hand though they are left handed then they can eat with their right hand. But blaming them not to do this is not right.

Hi Alpha
I don't think it makes any difference if a person uses their right or left hand for eating.
However, I did some research and found this out:
1. In India and Indonesia, eating with the left hand is considered impolite.
2. Chinese characters prove extremely difficult to write with the left hand.
3. Not so long ago, teachers slapped the wrists of left-handed American elementary students.
How terrible to discrimnate against left handed people! I totally say that eating with the left hand is totally acceptable.
Have a nice evening,
Char

Hi, i'm a lefty and I do not see anything wrong with eating using the left hand instead of the right. Maybe for some it looks weird because they are not accustomed to it, but hey, if we have people using their right why go against those using their left.

It's weird. I don't know why left-handed people should be blamed. I sort of admire them, because people around me who are left-handed are always clever and have a good memory. Recently I have read a book which says your brain will improve if you consciously use both of your hands.

"Should not be blamed too much?" "Correcting them?"
I am proud to be left-handed. Anyone who has a problem with left-handers is not deserving of our company.

I agree with you, alpha.Left handed persons are also normal people. They can do everything we can but just change the used hand.We can see many sporters are left handed people, especially in soccer. They play so well and have many fans, like Arjen Robben. No one blame to them for they are left handed people. So why we can't respect the left handed people around us.
