i will go for a laptop as it is the order of the day and obviously more convenient. I am used to laptop now and i cannot sit and type for a desktop any more. i have a laptop and it lasted 3 years and is still going strong. I will have to wait and see if it lasts any further in the future.

For now, I think desktops are more efficient when it comes to longevity. It's more sturdy and it physically separated which lessens the risk of other components being damaged or affected. If laptops are dropped and the impact is heavy, it's not that easy to fix and could probably be heavily damage. Laptop parts aren't as common as desktops as well and they usually cost a lot. Some of the parts even seem choosy about the laptop brand/model. It may work for this particular brand but may not work on another. Desktops still has more advantages than laptops. Its disadvantages against laptops is the space it takes and portability. Who knows? Maybe in the near future, manufacturer can slowly find a way to make a desktop computer as compact as the current laptops while maintaining its sturdy frame. c'ya sis!

Hi sis! Good mornin'! Wow you're off to an early start. Well, the best I've seen so far would be Sony. My aunt and uncle let me borrow it for a while. It's sturdy although it feels a little heavy. My next preference would either be Dell or an HP. Hey, try going to Megamall. There are quite a lot of good and cheap laptops at cyberzone. Take care sis, enjoy your weekend!

i dont use my laptop for surfing the net, my laptop is full of music that i use for the band. i use desktop when i surf the net, when i am at mylot i am using our desktop. my wife has her own laptop and i dont know what she uses that for har har har. well she has a lot of pictures of we three instore there. so i can say that laptop is long lasting but the desktop is more because you dont need to charge any battery for it.

I feel that Desktop is relatively best,sturdy..and cost effective..and whereas in laptop, it lasts for few years.. especially the battery life.. is so much reduced.. after some years.. Though there are disadvantages in desktop.. but the disadvantages are overcomed when you compare with the longevity of the desktop and the pricing band. Take care.

Desk top, for me, my dear ^_^ Because every parts and components in a desk top are not keep compact like a lap top and thus the shelf life will tend to be longer.. And also, the lCD screen of a laptop isn't as good as compared to a desk top.. hehe ^_^ And my dear will know alot more to advise me if i were to consider gettingmyself a laptop.. hehe =D muahhh

I think desktop is better than laptop. But all depends of many factors. Capacity, memory, etc.

I personally prefer desktops as you can use them for high end gaming where as laptops are generally not for gaming. I think both are long lasting, it really depends on the brand of components you are using but i have had a pc and a laptop for 8 years and they still run fine. Where as my most recent pc has had a hard drive failure ands its only 3 years old :(. cheers
