Or Are You a Practical Kind of Person?
When I was young and single, I used to buy designer clothes and top brand products. I wanted quality and assurance that it will last for a long time..
I love imported items because I thought those are of high quality. And they actually are, because most of the things I bought, I still have and some I have been using still for over a decade now.
When I got older and wiser and married with kids, practicality set in. Of course, I would now think first of what the family needs than what I alone want.
When I opened my boutique shop, I carried top of the line apparels, bags, shoes, accessories and many more. That's what people here wanted so I gave them their wishes..
We have economic recessions here too. And when that came, funny how people suddenly wanted cheap items but still with quality. I too started calling suppliers for those.
Nowadays, clothes and accessories are not on my top lists. And if I have the luxury to buy new ones, there are many "unbranded" items in the market which are of high quality materials. As for accessories, i can always make some for my own use.

I usually buy brand name on most things. Especially clothing and shoes. I just find that the quality is better. Most things last longer, and I have had better luck with the store if the quality did fail me. I have had to take a couple items back and told the manager how disappointed I was, and they ended up replacing the item and giving me a gift certificate. I can bet you wouldn't get that kind of a deal at wal mart!

Hi! I can honestly say i have never purchased an item purely because of the brand. I agree that branded clothing is often of high quality but the price usually matches and as a student it's not a viable option! I also find that people who are a slave to brands and fashion don't have individual looks. If everybody wore adidas clothing then we would all look the same!
I prefer to shop for vintage and second hand accessories and clothing without a designer label, not only is this far cheaper but i feel it gives me more ways of expressing myself through my attire!
Making accessories is cool too, i do this as well and love wearing something knowing that nobody else in the world has one too!!

Me too, My personal accessories, of course are one and only.. But those that I sell are sometimes made in batches.. i go looking around for second hand shops too.. Sometimes, they have what i want on a cheaper price than those shops in the mall..
Once, my friend and I was walking in a mall and we passed by someone who wore the same summer dress she was wearing ..We hurriedly walked away because she was so embarrassed to be seen..

I used to be. i must confess i still love branded clothes. But the irony is that i can't afford them most of the times. I love them as i believe all are not so full who buy these expensive ones. the qualities are better as usual.its better to buy one good one rather than multiple cheap ones.

if you can look for cheaper ones and finds a store which carries untagged items, you will be amazed that those branded ones are just expensive because of the name..
Here, I have found some retailers which sells factory over runs, the ones which they export and becomes GAP, ANNE KLEIN, A&F and other well known brands when they reach other countries..
thanks...

When I was younger, I thought that was cool to wear brand name stuff. I did the best I could to get my mom to buy them for me. Now that I am 27, I dont give (bleep) what brand it is. I just want clothes that fit me well, feel good against my skin, and lasts. These brand name clothing manufacturers are not paying me to wear the overpriced clothing. So at the end of the day, I am going to continue shopping at the bargain boutiques that carry great quality clothing at reasonable prices. Thank you to those that make that possible.

I don't give a darn about brand names. I want something that works. The odd time tat I do buy brand ame is wen it omes to certain medications, because certain brands work better or me than others. Clothes don't really DO anything except to coer a person's body. I don't think it's necessary to have brand-name lohing.

Pesonally i am not particular with the brand when it comes to clothes or personal stuffs as long as it make me feel comfortable and feel good it doesn't matter to me but i agree that some branded things really last long. But of course there are things that i really make sure that i choose it's brand because of it's good quality like gadgets and appliances.

yeah when it comes to gadgets and appliances, I do buy those branded ones..But there are also non-branded appliances which are sister companies of the branded ones. The same manufacturer but are sold with different names, and they are with the same quality too, it's just that, sometimes, it costs a lot because we are also paying for the brand's name and popularity..thanks...

I never had consider buying any thing because of its brand. I am more of a practical person eversince. I even have some items with me that I bought on a bargain. And I was happy that I was like that since I was young cause now am able to save the money and I can able to share it with my baby.

It depends really. There are somethings that are worth paying more for because the "brand" really does signify quality. But that doesn't mean that I will only buy "branded" items or products. My litmus test is always going to be quality compared to cost. I don't mind paying a higher price if the item is well made and I will get good use from it.
Clothing is a somewhat different issue. If it is a classic item, one that I will wear for many seasons such as a jacket, or a pair of wool slacks I will usually look for a brand that I know and pay a higher price knowing that I will get value in the long run. If it is a seasonal "fashion" statement then I will simply find something that I like and that fits me well knowing that it will be recycled within 6 months.

hi, Ivaldean...Here in my country, some of the "branded" clothes that they sell in other countries are actually made here..Lucky if one can find where the factories are because they sometimes sell those over runs for cheaper price, but without the tag, of course...thanks..

I have some favorite stores such as Zara and Topshop. When I go there I know that I'll find something I like. So if I need an outfit for a party, I check out those stores. But I also buy from bazaars, but these are more of impulse buys. When it comes to shoes, I'll definitely choose branded ones over the non branded ones. I'll never sacrifice quality for price. Shoes are important because if I'm wearing a pair that's hard to walk in it just ruins my entire day and puts me in a bad mood.

Ever since, I am not a brand conscious person. Whatever I feel looks good on me, I go for it. No matter how cheap it is. And more so when I got married. I rarely buy something for myself. But when it comes to my daughter and hubby's things, I mostly don't mind the price. It's just that when I am buying for myself, I always feel that everything's pricy.
But when it comes to my Hello Kitty stuffs, I always go for the original. But I rarely buy them, always a gift from my mom and dad. My hubby even offered me to buy a Louie Vuitton, but I refused. I find it too expensive and impractical. It almost costs our 1 month house rent. Well, it's just me. A very practical me.

well, yes you have a point, once you have already a family you will think of them first before buying some stuffs for yourself.,branded clothes, shoes and bags are really really good cause just like what you've said it last longer and for me it is one of the reason why i chose to buy them., but not necessary. if i can afford it then yes. for clothes and shoes, i go for branded as well as the non-branded ones- i dont care; as long as it's nice and fits me well. but for bags, i have to admit that most of the time i go for branded ones as i'm very picky with that hehe

branded clothes always gives you a confidence within yourself. i think you feel confident when you are on with the branded stuff. undoubtedly they are costly and thus you can not afford much of them. so i try to keep a mix of both the branded and unbranded in my wardrobe. this keeps me satisfied also and my budgets in shape too. happy branding!!!!!

I have no particular preference for brands although on shoes I choose Adidas. For everything else the clothing article matters. If it is nice then I'd buy it. No matter if it's a branded thing or not.

I am not at all that brand conscious. I do have my preferred brands because I've tried and tested their quality. Like you, I just got married. And let me just say that getting married ain't cheap. And my preferences when it comes to clothes and stuff didn't really change. The only thing that's new is that I've started to care more on where my money goes. I would rather spend my money on new investments rather than buy new stuff.
Maybe because when we were young, we were trying to find out who we were and where we belong. It's all about being "in." As we grow up, we develop ourselves and get to know what we really want.
Bottom line here is that wear and buy clothes that you feel comfortable in. If you feel comfortable buying expensive things, then that's you.
